Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said that Election can take place without Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief.

In an interview with The Associated Press, PM Kakar said that “fair elections can take place without the PTI chairman or hundreds of members of his party who are jailed because they engaged in unlawful activities including vandalism.

He said that the thousands of people in PTI who didn’t engage in unlawful activities, “will be running the political process, they will be participating in the elections.”

PM Kakar further added “We are not pursuing anyone on a personal vendetta But yes, we will ensure that the law is appropriate. Anyone, be it PTI chairman or any other politician who violates, in terms of their political behavior, the laws of the country, then the restoration of the law has to be ensured. We cannot equate that with … political discrimination.”

He said that it’s the Election Commission that is going to conduct the vote, not the military, and PTI chairman appointed the commission’s current chief, so “why would he turn in any sense of the word against him?”

Commenting on the election date PM Kakar said that when the commission sets an exact election date, his government “will provide all the assistance, financial, security or other related requirements.”

Obviously, establishment want Nawaz back in power, they need a democratic face. Democrats in US bid on Nawaz.

I don’t think anybody in Pakistan thinks PTI has a role to play in next general election. Even if the Army decides to hold free and fair elections, nobody is going to believe it.

It’s a natural perception that elections will be rigged, so why not rig properly?

Next general election, the question is not how to defeat PTI, because they are not allowed to participate anyway and will only be allowed to participate in limited capacity. The question is how to divide the seats between PDM parties. The question is who is more loyal towards the institution and surrendering higher share of power to the Army.

Shahbaz in his last speech tried to assert, that he is Army’s favourite child so if it is true, the question is not the election result but how many seats to offer to PML-N so that they do not sting after the elections.

Pakistan need democratic parties to stay in neutral orbit. Otherwise if these mainstream moderate democratic parties out of scene, then he vacuum will be filled by hardcore religious parties. Imagine " chabbi wala khilona" running the parliament of Pakistan... nation in rock and hard place situation.

No they don't
They don't need a democratic face for international community

They may need for development as uncertainty of hybrid regime brings no prosperity but with respect to international community they do what suits them

That is controlled Pakistan

Can't blame them for their own interests

This country is such a joke.

We can't even organise a caretaker government which is politically neutral.

PTI should field a better candidate this time around not Imran the cokehead

Ali muhammad Khan as PM Pakistan
