Just been reading that EADS have offered IAF the new EJ200 tvc engine...

Its been suggested in flightglobal that TOT is available for 100% and EADS would work on lots of other spin off projects.

The engine which powers the TYPHOON fighter is a late ie brand new engine and has 40 years of life ahead of it.

With the MMRCA deal could India incorporate all 3 of its next fighters with ONE ENGINE.. LICENSE PRODUCED in india in bulk for the next 30 years.

ie.

126 mmrca orderto go to TYPHOON. with EJ200

100 TEJAS MK2 to be powered by EJ200

100 +pak fa 5th gen fighter to be powered by 2 EJ200 TVC engines.

With one engine powering 70% of the entire fleet by 2025 it will save money tons of commonality and with complete TOT no sanction issues...

WHAT YOU ALL THINK ???????

Sure lets abandon all attempts at Indigenization

If we are going to use a standard anything.
It has to be Indian Made. Otherwise we will just become strategically dependent
on one supplier, for the operational capability for the entire air force.

We have the capability, to develop an engine. We should focus resources on that task.
Foreign goods should supplement our assets till which point where an Indigenous becomes available.
We have the Kaveri Engine. We should focus on then.
