This is was during Hajjat Alwada':

"Ḥajjat al-Wadāʿ (Arabic: حَجَّة الوَداع; meaning: farewell hajj) was the only hajj journey of the Prophet (s) after Hijra that occurred in 10/632. After Hijra, the Prophet (s) went to Mecca for 'umra three times;[1] but, according to historians and hadith scholars, he (s) only once attended hajj rituals and it was few months before he (s) passed away.[2]" (WikiShia)

So according to your interpretation of the verse, if the Prophet (SA) had not do "Tabligh" at Ghadir Khom he wouldn't have conveyed God's message about Ali's imamah throughout his whole life up to that point (few months before he died). So by that token, every revelation, or Hadith conveyed during his lifetime up to that point is not considered conveying Ali's imamah according to Allah based on the Shia's own interpretation of the verse. Which includes many Ayat like Ali's donating his ring, or Ayat Al Tatheer (Verse of purification) or the thousands of the prophets Hadiths mentioning Imamah in Shia books.

It was last year of Prophet (pbuh) life and one thing was left to be completed and it was future of the Ummah whilst everything had been told to the people, that's why Prophet was ordered by God to finish his prophethood by telling people whom they must look after once his departure come. so Ghadir Khum was official direct appointment before all Muslims and was different by previous hints that's why Ommar gave allegiance of obedience and not before that.

Probably Imam Ali (as) was enemy of all Muslims so Ommar congratulate him over becoming friend to all Muslim again.
All 3 first Caliphates appointed successor, do you take God and his messenger less than them for not being worried about future of Ummah????
Do you think a prophet that wouldn't left his house or city without putting a person in charge would leave entire Ummah on its own???

حَيْثُ اسْتَخْلَفَهُ عَلَي الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَ تُخْلِفُنِي عَلَي النِّسَاءِ وَ الصِّبْيَانِ فَقَالَ أَ مَا تَرْضَي أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَي إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي​

The point is do you know any prophet that has ever been chosen by anyone except God?
Or do you know any successor of any Prophet ever to be chosen by anyone except God since creation?
Do you know any time that God emptied the earth from his successive authority?

What we know for sure is ALL Prophets and their successor have been always chosen directly by God WITHOUT any EXCEPTION:

2:30 And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."​

Or

2:124 And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham was tried by his Lord with commands and he fulfilled them. [ Allah ] said, "Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people." [Abraham] said, "And of my descendants?" [ Allah ] said, "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers.​

Or

21:73 And We made them leaders guiding by Our command. And We inspired to them the doing of good deeds, establishment of prayer, and giving of zakah; and they were worshippers of Us.​

Or

32:24 And We made from among them leaders guiding by Our command when they were patient and [when] they were certain of Our signs.

Even when Prophet of God Moses asked his lord to appoint his brother the Aaron as his Vzair God replied:

20:36 [ Allah ] said, "You have been granted your request, O Moses.​

So even the Prophet of God ASKED his lord to appoint his brother.
Beside aforementioned facts the point is God told Prophet Abraham that "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers." .. that's means the Imam must be purified from any sin .. Prophet Abraham became Imam after he was tried by his Lord with commands and he fulfilled them .. so it's really a very big deal even Khaliloallh must be tried to be seen if he could fit in this Imamat or not ..
You know why? because of this:

It's so important that we've got such a narration about it:

من مات وليس في عنقه بيعة مات ميتة جاهلية​

Go to Hajj 100 times, read Quran day and night, say your prayer all the time if you don't know your Imam your death would be like you don't know ISLAM.


So let's sum it up:
Prophets/Imam/Successors all have been chosen by God.
To Guide people.
On his command.
And Imamat is not something people could choose by themselves, God appointed Abbraham and all others.
The Imam must not be wrongdoers.
And God knows it"I know that which you do not know".
And you must try to know such a "not wrongdoers" which is chosen by God to guide you an "Imam" that could stand as successor of last Prophet and in fact all prophet otherwise your death would equal with a person before Islam. which means you are not considered as Muslim.

The only one that Prophet (pbuh) made such a bold clear statement about him is Imam Ali (as) in Public before 10 thousands of Muslims in his last year of life by reciting nearly one hundred verses from The Glorious Qur’an, and for seventy three times reminded and warned people of their deeds and future..

At least 110 companions of Prophet narrated this tradition, as well as Sunni traditionists /historians /commentators of Qur’an who confirmed this tradition to be authentic and frequent.


Prophet said ألَسْتُ أولى بالمؤمنين من أنفسهم؟
Which means do I have AUTHORITY on all of you more than you have on YOURSELVES?
Prophet doesn't talk about friendship or kindness but he is talking about AUTHORITY.

2.Prophet said:

I am leaving for you two precious things and if you adhere to them both, you will never go astray after me. They are the Book of Allah and my Progeny, that is my Ahlul Bayt. The two shall never separate from each other until they come to me by the Pool (of Paradise)."

Prophet put these 2 "Book of Allah" and his "Progeny" next to each other which is important because :

Quran is chosen by God that means anyone next to him is chosen by Allah.
Quran is Allah words written that means anyone next to him is God word's walking.
Quran is Allah spokesman that means anyone next to it is Allah spokesman on earth.
Quran is Allah guidance that means anyone next to it is Allah guidance on earth.
If Quran is
2:2 "This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah -"
Then there is no doubt about the one next to him whom is a guidance for those conscious of Allah .


3. As far as Imam must be purified from all sins the only one could fit into this is Imam Ali(as) due to (Verse of purification)

33:33 And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance. And establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity [of sin], O people of the [Prophet's] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification.​

And it ain't about women.

4. As the first Muslim and the only one that stated his fully support for Prophet from first day:

He slept in Prophet bed to save his life, he was always the first to stand in the battlefield when the rest fled, he was the one that Fatima (sa) accepted as her husband while all others were rejected and we know she is the mistress of all women of the heaven.

5. A year before Ḥajjat al-Wadā God asked his Prophet to send a person to read Baraat verses in Mecca in order to make the city prepared for next year Haj "Ḥajjat al-Wadāʿ".
Ffirst Prophet sent first caliphate to read versus but God sent Gabriel to tell Prophet "either you or one person from you should read it" ..
جِبْرِيلَ جَاءَنِي، فَقَالَ: " لَنْ يُؤَدِّيَ عَنْكَ إِلا أَنْتَ أَوْ رَجُلٌ مِنْكَ "
and Prophet sent Imam Ali (as). God ain't after "Nepotism" but he is telling you it's either Prophet or Ali in a clear wording.


The Question is how you guys dared to appoint a person as successor of the Prophet of the God (pbuh)? while clearly you have no authority over such an important task ????

Ghadir Khum was the day that Imam Ali (as) being successor of the prophet (pbuh) became official and became a part of religion due to being direct order from God ...

I have watched a full 1 hour lecture by this shaytan where he attacked sunnis and he also explained he keeps his real views quiet because if he said them normally, it'd cause a raucous. He tried to get his lecture removed but some of us downloaded it before youtube began to take it off the net. I've still got it somewhere on my computer.
