Eid or no Eid?

That is like saying the sun is bigger than the moon so why don't we close and break fast at the same time, read salah at the same time. One muslim ummah united.

The reality is the moon is visible in some places and not in others so we have eids in different regions. Pakistan hilal committe made the right decision.

These people are not well versed in matters of religion

here in NA its a maybe, with a possiblity in CA. UK/Saudi are not possible. Saudis have been mooning the ummah, in every sense of the word, for decades. they follow umm ul qura calendar. if birth of new moon happens before the maghrib its new month. ran into this as a teenager for late night declrations.

Logically the Islamic calendar cannot run differently in different places. When the Quran talks about Laylat-ul-Qadr it is talking about ONE night. There's no mention of angels coming on different nights based on whether mullas have seen the moon or not.

Muslims have had huge empires where the information of a moon sighting would take days to travel the empire. So did angels stop coming down and waited for Internet to come along?
