What's new

Egyptians pass new constitution by 63.5 % yes vote.

well there goes Egypt.
Not necessarily. If the Egyptians can kick the habit of continuous government and start a new one there is indeed hope. The French did it, the Americans too, but for the Egyptians to kick aside 6,000 years of near-continuous management seems to be a very scary thought for them. Like the Chinese, the problem with being part of a really old civilization is that you are saddled with a lot of worn-out baggage.

.
Everyone is pretending to care about Egypt more than Egyptians. Egyptians voted for Muslim Brotherhood because they tried secularism for 60 years. Needless to say it didn't''t work. Egypt will fallow Turkish model, not Iranian failed model.

. .
With the USA and KSA as sugar daddies? That hasn't done Pakistan much good, has it?
USA & KSA are suger daddies of the old Egyptian regime.
Pakistan's problem is not KSA or USA fault, their mess is entirely their own fault. No matter how much they like to blame others.

. .
i am not happy with this results but it shows that the MB and salfi popularity is falling from 78 percent last year to 63 percent
we must also keep in mind that alot have voted yes just to end the riots and protests
for everyone who want a better Egypt and worried about us dont worry we are not going anywhere we will fight for Egypt and will never leave our country to be a wahabii state the opposition is united we are gaining more support every day and i know we will win in the end

The Iranian model?

The arabs in power in Iran are as Iranian as Umar was.

In any case, the Vilayate faqih system is actually less fucked up then the absolute theocratic monarchy of Saudi Arabia. There is only one difference between the two: the mullahs picked a fight with the Americans while the Saudi wahabis befriended the Americans. In Iran there's more industry and knowledge than Saudi could achieve in a 1000 years. The only reason the economy is more fucked is b/c the mullahs can't get their heads out of their wide behinds and befriend USA and the fact that Saudi exports 4 times more oil per day then Iran, that's it. In terms of social freedoms Iran is 10000 times more free than saudi. In terms of family values than Iran is ******* switzerland b/c Iranian families are actually quite liberal.

New Iran I guess. The tokhme sag religous thugs came to power in Iran in 79 and everything went to the royal crapper, now the same will happen in Egypt (100 times worse b/c at least our religous baboons aren't salafi/wahabi terrorists). Iran is 33-34 years ahead of Egypt and thankfully we'll get rid of ours faster.

Egypt, see you in 4 decades and be strong.
i dont agree everyone who was in tahrir square facing death every second untill mubark left everyone who have seen all this happen in front of him will not leave his country to this fate

I hope you're right.

In Iran the common theory as to why "fadayine Islam" got control and never looked back is that the Iran-Iraq war helped them solidify their power over the country. They used the chaos to drastically change the shape of the country. People were too busy dealing with the invading hoards of arabs and finding a way to deal with the collapsed economy than fighting for the future of the nation.

If there's any sort of conflict, be it with another nation or civil war, the future of Egypt will be settled and the salafis will spread like a god damn virus. These animals feed on chaos.

the key here is the armed forces we have a chance because the army will not take sides the army serve the Egyptian people and they wont use force to help the ruler if they want they would have done so for mubark . besides the salfis tried using force and it didnt work here is a video from alexandria after the battle

you know what, I think one thing that Egypt has going for it compared to 79 Iran is the social makeup of the nation. In Iran people were quite liberal and they viewed Islam as no threat. They called themselves muslim but lived a very secular life. Islam in their minds wasn't the sole authority on life and law. Sort of like how Americans say they are Christian but live a secular life. When Fadayine Islam started taking control they didn't see them as a threat b/c they simply weren't. Nobody had much reason to fear them. Such groups in Iran were micky mouse fringe groups and nobody took them serious. They looked at khomaini and his gang as sort of a pope figure that wasn't at all dangerous. They saw him as a person that every political party and every person could show respect to and that made him the right leader for the revolution.

In Egypt however people are very much in touch with religion and a religous life on a personal level and the society itself is very religous compared to Iran (I'm talking the society itself not govts). People also have a very good understanding of Islamic groups. The first fundamantalist Islamic group in the region was born in Egypt (the muslim brotherhood is actually the father of "fadayine Islam" in Iran) and the Iranian experience is also right there in front of their eyes.

The people, whether they're religous or secular, will put up a fight against this disease. Whether the outcome will turn out different remains to be seen.

a very good point and i have to say librials and nationalists must be blamed also they didnt work as hard as them to go to the poor areas this people most of them cant write and read they can be easy target for them in any election the poor and uneducated areas usually vote for them they use money to buy their vote they must know that anyone buy their vote will do anything to keep you poor so you will need his money next elections but we are learning from our mistakes and soon we will have victory

The Jehadi donations were also raised in PK and send over to KSA? Right?
OBL was a Pakistani citizen and so was Aymen Zewahiri?

I don't know why Iranians are picking on Egypt. Walayat e Faqeh and Mullahs are considered as hardline and extreme as Salafis. You comment on Salafis like Iran is some liberal heaven.
