Lol, the minute it comes into Nigeria it will be inspected by Israel...Egypt as per experts are going in wrong direction buying different jets like MIG 35, rafale and if jf17 is going to be maintenance nightmare. They in the start should have gone for only one platform giving them jf17 in my opinion stupid since they will waste them like in 67 and Israels will get their hands on it.
Your statement is really dumb..first, what experts are you talking about, any sources?Egypt as per experts are going in wrong direction buying different jets like MIG 35, rafale and if jf17 is going to be maintenance nightmare. China can afford to maintain mixed fleet of russian and home grown fighters.Your statement is really dumb..first, what experts are you talking about, any sources?
So according to your philosophy Pakistan should sell its F-16s and be content with only JF-17.. and China should return its SU-35s to Russia! And why sis you jump 1973 if you were honest.. Besides..You are not giving anything, if there is a deal it will be with China.. and Pakistan will get its part of the profits from the latter..
That is also the case. I hope with Israel so interested in Nigerian people investing and donating tablets for education purposes in Nigeria. They may indeed get hands on it.Lol, the minute it comes into Nigeria it will be inspected by Israel...
I said that because Egypt is already operating the J-7 and the K-8E that will be replaced by the Chinese FC-1..maintenance issue will be only with the SU-35, since it is the first time Egypt is buying a modern SU..But I guess technicians are already in Russia for training..China can afford to maintain mixed fleet of russian and home grown fighters.
Pakistan has f16, jf17, mirages and f7 due to the lack of money and embargoes by US of A. My statement is not dumb rather complex for many to understand. Buying french, russian and pak-chinese origin fighter two of which are twin engine is going to maintenance nightmare. Instead egypt should have gone for only chinese and russian.

Can light fighters even compete with Israeli heavy fighters? F-35 will tear up JF-17.
They said 3 sq off the shelf and then start production.. so here you go..
Egypt needs to replace its old light fighters too..J-7,F-5...etc, hence the interest in the JF-17.. for Medium and heavy fighters, Egypt can buy more Rafale, Mig-35 and SU-35..
Tbh Egypt should phase out very light aicraft like JF-17 or go for Gripen NG which outclasses even the JF-17 Block 3.

Any aviation expert will admit that the Gripen NG is superior to any version of the JF-17.Where did you get this information
Apart from the lower chance of a sale being blocked or sanctioned and much higher cost roughly 3 times more.Any aviation expert will admit that the Gripen NG is superior to any version of the JF-17.
New and more reliable American engine, and superior AESA radar compared to KLJ-7 are thr biggest factors here.
Jf-17 will stop being useful among modern countries some time in the 30s to 35. I personally would like to see a very light stealth aircraft in the Gripen category if possible that could replace older fighters. J-20 for heavy role, J-31 for medium weight role, and a lighter stealth fighter in the class of Gripen as I said before.Apart from the lower chance of a sale being blocked or sanctioned and much higher cost roughly 3 times more.
So 3 JF17s or 1 Gripen....

maintenance issue with Rafale will also exist embargoes one day will be thrown on Egypt once again in case of conflict.I said that because Egypt is already operating the J-7 and the K-8E that will be replaced by the Chinese FC-1..maintenance issue will be only with the SU-35, since it is the first time Egypt is buying a modern SU..But I guess technicians are already in Russia for training..
With networked warfare and advanced next gen AAM's and munitions....JF-17 can be useful for some time. Gripen is a good platform, however, JF17 offers more value for money. Rumor is block 3 will get a new engine. So Gripen does not have a huge advantage over B3 in my opinion.Jf-17 will stop being useful among modern countries some time in the 30s to 35. No maintenance issues with Rafale.. Egypt was operating the Mirage-2000 for a long time.. don't worry much..everything is taken care of.. if you had that embargo thought, don't you think EAF has thought about it..and made sure it won't work against it?maintenance issue with Rafale will also exist embargoes one day will be thrown on Egypt once again in case of conflict.
I don't think so..Rafale is a very potent fighter.. it took on the Raptor in the red flag exercises and locked on on one ..Making the comparsion between JF-17 and F-35 is ludicrous. They are both a different generation.
The F-35 will mincemeat a lot of fighters including Rafale.
The fact is EAF is negotiating with China to get the FC-1/JF-17 with TOT..Egypt will buy more Rafale, Mig-35 and SU-35..and most likely the SU-57.. but there is always a need of light fighters to insure a high-low mix..The dear distinguished Egyptian member himself has stated that Egyptian air force feels no need to acquire the JF-17. Egyptian air force can buy more expensive and "better" fighters.
I think Egypt should replace all of its fighters with Rafale. They have the money and resources. They should go for it.
Well said..There is no gold hidden in JF-17. You get what is advertised. LOL why would Israel want to inspect the JF-17? It doesn't make any sense.
