What do you think of this? And how would you compare it to Reutech's work?
Well I can tell you Egypt is 50 years behind. Reutech's work is in the top tier from radar, ew, sigint and communications. It has undergone several consolidation and it has diversified into dual use e.g. a lot of technologies are out in the civilian market.

THe article is very vague. Egypt unfortunately lacks the impetus to go anywhere; their solution will be bought and then either licenced produced with external knockdown kits.

The amount they are putting down hardly covers actual infrastructure needed; 70% will go into the salaries of seconded army officers who will siphon it off to their person pet projects. I am not being harsh but i have seen it first hand during a few visits i did.

Ok this is unexpected, then what do you think about the domestic capability of other countries in the Middle East like Turkey(Aselsan) and Israel(Elbit Systems)?
And would Reutech give Egypt TOT to try and bridge this 50 year gap?

Aselsan and Elbit are far ahead of what Ruetech has to offer currently. They have a much bigger budget and are making much more profit whereas Ruetech has to go civilian to generate revenue because RSA isnt buying there radars.

I wouldnt say is a 50 year gap, more like 20-30 years in terms of radars. Ruetech got in many years ago though, Egypt got into this in 2016.

Elbit are on par with Reutech as they are co-operators in many technologies. I have ex-colleagues from Elbit.
Aselsan is doing really well.

Unfortunately, the experience is not about doing to TOT; there is no capability to run forward with that in Egypt. That needs to be built with proper intent and civilian + university collaboration for R&D; military needs to keeps its hands away - do their job; let the engineers run the projects and deliver.

I doubt the B2 RCS is bigger than F-117A. If F117A RCS is so good, it wouldn't need to be retired.

Ah, weird I guess it varies from source to source possibly. Wikipedia and other sources say 0.2m2 and others say 0.00001m2.

Design and Implementation of Pulse Compression Radar Waveforms Digital Generator and Processor with Real Time Side-lobes Suppression Optimum Filter on FPGA




Side-Lobes Suppression (SLS) in Pulse Compression (PC) radar aims to overcome the main problem of PC techniques, which is the high sidelobes level at the Matched Filter (MF) output. Thereby, enhances the overall detection performance of the radar system. Recently, a generic side-lobes suppression Optimum Filter (OP-F), following the MF, for complete cancellation of these range-time sidelobes for any phase coded waveforms in PC radar has been introduced. Implementation issues of such side-lobes reduction or cancellation filters have not been exploited in any other literature before. In this paper, real time digital design and implementation of this OP-F on Xilinx Virtex-6 Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) platform is presented. The implemented design is divided into two parts; part 1 includes digital waveform generator of two different phase coded signals (binary Barker and polyphase (P4) codes each of length 13). Part 2 is the generated waveforms digital matched filter followed by the generic SLS OP-F. Moreover, verifying both of theoretical and experimental results along with implementation resources is presented. The results targeting the FPGA platform show that the proposed implementation has achieved complete matching between both theoretical and experimental analysis. The implemented SLS OP-F achieves the expected enhancement without any extra hardware complexity.

Seems there is going to be work on a phased array radar like announced at EDEX 2018, this is an old research article on phased array shifters for radars.

The paper proposes a high resolution tunable MicroElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS)
phase shifters for radar phased array antenna to steer the beam. The designed phase shifters
are switched line phase shifter and reflection type phase shifter. The resolution of the
designed phase shifters is two degree phase shift using 8 bit control circuitry. The proposed
circuit is based on dividing the tuning range into coarse and fine tuning sections which change
the phase by 30o and 2o steps respectively to achieve the desired phase. A microstrip phase
shifters have been designed at 3 GHz suitable for surveillance radar applications. The
designed phase shifters are simulated and tested using Advance Design System circuit
simulation package (ADS) and the results demonstrated using the graphics capability of
Matlab Program. The results show that the worst case insertion loss is less than 0.17 dB and
0.05 dB for switched line and reflection type phase shifters respectively. The return loss for
the two proposed phase shifters is less than -60 dB
