An Egyptian boy has become an internet sensation in China after a video in which he made a surprisingly eloquent case against authoritarian rule went viral in his home country and worldwide at the weekend.

A version of the interview with the presumably 12-year-old boy appeared with Chinese subtitles on Chinese microblogs on Monday evening. It ranked as the third most popular microblog post overnight until Tuesday, before it was quietly taken down from the ranking.

"I am here today to […] protest the confiscation of the constitution by one single party," Ali Ahmed told El Wady News in the video.

He then condemns the religious influence on policy under then-president Mohammed Mursi, who was deposed last week and has since been placed under house arrest. Ahmed also spoke against the subordinate role of women in politics.

But it was the boy's articulate political argument that struck a chord in China. "Where is the constitution that represents us?" he asked in Arabic.

On Chinese social media, one person commented: "The heavenly dynasty could learn from him," in a reference to China's Communist Party.

Guess the Chinese know pretty well what they want and what they don’t want. Don’t expect mere emotion of a teen can change the wisdom of the Chinese.

The Chinese are not satisfied completely with their current system, and they continue their strife for betterment of their life. That's perhaps why the boy can make sensation, and that's it!

But Western democracy won’t grow healthily on Chinese social soil now. India democracy has been a bad example to the Chinese, now the Egyptian style of democracy seems even more evil.

LOL! One party that doesn’t work in Egypt doesn’t mean it won’t work in China, currently; Just as democracy works in UK doesn’t mean it works in India (and the Philippines, Egypt, etc.), where social soil doesn’t fit it.

As I mentioned many times, social soil change needs hundreds of years of time.

 ......if all that was true why was the post quietly taken down ? :azn:

China is ruled by the mandate of heaven. The dragon has ridden the winds of time for 5000 years, through ups and downs and survives to this day.
What other system is as flexible and robust as ours?

Fools always outnumber wisemen.

Everytime and everywhere.

Fortunately China is controlled mostly by the wisemen.

So you are calling your country men Fools ? ......does that include your parents too ? ...or your wife and kids ?

I assume you are calling the present chinese rulers 'wise'. ? ....... how lucky to be ruled by such 'wise' men. BTW ...how do you measure their wisdom before making them your rulers ? ..........why is it that these special 'wise men' come only from around 1000 families ?

Dont other families in china produce 'wise men' ? ...do they only produce fools ?
