What's new

Egyptian Armed Forces

@sami_1 I know you are a big fan of this deal but doesn't that concern you? @The SC & @joker88 & @Ghostkiller what about you fellows? I'd even like to ask any Indian members like @MirageBlue and others.
@Gomig-21 for me FA-50 will be the winner. And I wish we can cooperate with Turkey because FA-50 and TAI Hurjet are very similar as their role is a LIFT aircraft. Since SK didn't produce a new anti-ship missile this is where we can ask Turkey for the cooperation. Few examples like the Cakir cruise missile and ATMACA anti ship missile.
IK you hate Turkey (their gov) but I think it will be a very good step forward for our relations.

That can only happen once turkey withdraws all threats to egyptian national security, and really does A LOT for the nation, especially investing in egypts economy and industry. And considering the fact that what turkey has done to egypt in the past, it cant be just some small willy nilly investment annually like say, 2 billion per year,no it has to be no less then 3-4 billion per year. The same goes for qatar and how they threatened egyptian interests by cooperating with the turks. Both nations,, as far as im concerned, are just making minor down-payments with for example, qatars 2-5 billion dollar investment in egypts economy. perhaps ill feel better about them once they transfer their loaded out rafales and mirages to the eaf since they're looking to buy the f15 ex showing their deepest support and condolences to us. Turkey and qatar are going to have to do SO MUCH MORE than what they are already doing, because crossing the lines of our national security interests as a state and people are beyond inexcusable and unforgettable, especially during a time where we were dealing with economic hardship (we still are) and terrorist, militant activities within egyptian sands. If your really sincere about calling us your brothers then act on it with your behavior. Dont ever use the "brotherhood of islam" card until you truly mean it and act upon it with the deepest sincerity. Im also not feeling easy using turkish made weaponry so that if some crazy nut job ottomanist or kemalist can come to power and use that leverage against us and make us a laughing stock because we rely on their weapons, and categorize us under them, based on some of the folks that are in that nation. For turkey, it'll have to be full 100% access to every state of the art military equipment, training, hardware, logistics, information, and completely 0 strings attached what so ever. This includes their entire drone technology and tfx aircraft with everything that comes with it. Yes some folks are def thinking "none of this would ever happen since every nation prioritizes its security by keeping the secrets of their weapons confidential". But again, go back to all the crap that your administration and government has done to us, and REALLY mean your apology and your stance on Islamic brotherhood by really doing all of this to those that you've done wrong. We are nobody's satrep, district, colony, territory, province, sanjak, eyalet, or anything else. Period.

Great couple of videos of the EADS and the arrival of the first MEKO A-200 to Alexandria and a pic of the inauguration of the ship's flag.

I think it was a combination of UAE demonstration team and EAF Silver Stars that performed at the show.

No offense, but I don't think Iran can produce fighters equal to anything as close to the Su-35S
Iranian problem is not technological requirements my friend. Iran is a NANO power. The biggest problem in Iranian aviation industry is its size, budget, industrial capacity and most importantly lesser experience in this field.

Otherwise, Iran has put hands on turbojet and mini-turbofan engines. All of Iranian built cruise missiles are using homemade turbofan engines. I don't want to pollute this thread with my images from Iranian cruise missiles but Iran is capable of producing them locally.

As i said, biggest hurdle is industrial weakness, Iran can barely mass produce Kowsar fighter jet which is an F-5 clone with 4th generation avionics. It would be like trying to produce lastest version of Mercedes in production line of old Antique car. You have the tchnology but you lack the industrial capacity.

The defense minister also said that we will have a big shift in strategies. This one sentence is important, Iran has made missile program its top priority among other military projects. It consumes a major part of the defense budget hence no room for fighter jets.

When Russians denied Iran the S-300 PMU2 air defense system, defense ministry specified a large amount of budget for Bavar-373 project. Today it is on par with S-400.

I am sure that the defense minister meant to say that we will do the same in aviation industry. We have to wait and see, if Russians don't agree on our terms, we will have to go our own way. Even if its hard and time consuming.

Ah, ok. Sorry I misunderstood you. I hope Iran hurries and gets new fighter jets soon so that it can spank Israel if and when it decides to attack. And considering the crap Netnyahoo is getting because of the gifting scandal he's accused of, you never know when he might just order such an attack to take the pressure off of him.

I know you have all those missiles but believe me, those Jews have been preparing for how to deal with those for over a decade now. Just like they did to us in 1967 with that sneak attack on our air force and capturing all of Sinai. It didn't help that we had the dumbest military personnel running the army at the time which made it much easier for them. Still, to plan an attack for over a decade with their new F-35s and other aircraft assets they have and the US' intel to boot, you will definitely need long range radars on alert 24/7 plus a veritable intercepting air force to make them earn any kind of destruction let alone have enough fuel to return to base.

Tell the general to get those jets as soon as possible because there is also months and months of training and maintenance to learn.

More pics, enjoy.

Jews will get screwed one way or an other. No need to be worried about or be afraid of them. According to themselves, Iran has surrounded them with 19 groups and has left them sleepless at nights. I was laughing when Hertzog was crying in congress like a moaning hoe talking about Iranian threats to Israel esp Iranian nuclear program. That military outpost of AngloSaxon savages is already surrounded. There was a day when they launched 7 days attack on Muslim masses, today they can't even take on Gaza.

Currently, Iran has to deal with Americans in Persian Gulf. Israel is a tiny rat.

Btw, thanks for your good will.

What is your thoughts on what I wrote ya Gomig?

Almost identical to @Ramses Akhenaten Ahmose 's answer. I pretty much agree with everything he said and the only thing I would add is that we need to do our own work to catch up and that seems to be something that is already happening with all the deals that are being negotiated with ToT etc. Plus there is more than likely a lot being done behind closed doors such as that torpedo or cruise missile quick tidbit we saw that no one could identify. Remember that? And all the UAV/UCAVs that are being locally designed and built. So the benefit from Turkey under the circumstances don't appeal to me TBH, regardless of my feelings towards their dictator and how he totally disrespected Sisi to the point where he wouldn't want to be in the same room with him. What did Sisi ever do to him? Add all these elements and I think the majority would agree with the same assessment.

The EGY Armed Forces are moving in the perfect direction as long as they do't over-extend themselves financially which is my biggest concern and let them do their own secret projects to move into the familiy of those countries producing a lot of their own weapons. To me, that's the best way to go and if India is one of them despite its relationship with Israel, so be it. They just need to be on their toes and be very careful about their stuff getting out. From all we've seen so far, they seem to know exactly what they're doing despite the Su-35SE failure. But we're yet to see what they get for compensation.

The launch of the Egyptian-Emirati air show in the new city of El Alamein

That was a great air show. Between the UAE flight demonstration team, the EAF Silver Stars and the paragliders and that crazy 36 man parachute team which is so dangerous cuz all it takes is one individual to make a mistake and tangle up the entire structure!

And that turquoise water of the Mediterranean with the white sand beaches are unmistakable of the entire northern coast of Egypt.

I've been there so many times just not recently and man does it look different with all those buildings and villas with the artificial sand islands they put down like they did in the UAE. It's so changed now that people forget the historical significance of El Alamein and the great WWII battle that took place there where Montgomery stopped the Desert Fox Romel from rolling all the way from Tobruk to Alexandria and onto Jerusalem IIRC. Back in the day there used to be a couple of villas and the WWII museum which I believe is still there with some great, vintage war memorabilia on exhibit. We used to stop there every time on our way to Marsa Matruh. Now it would be unrecognizable lol. But it's a good thing,

Oh an those navy SF cruising around in those Ribs put on quite a show. There was even that one quick snippet of those Turkish-built Yonka Onuk MRTP-20 class fast attack patrol boats the EN has a few of in the first pic below.

@Ghostkiller , possibly a deal for 75 to 100 of these LCAs by sometime next year according to Mahmoud Gamal. I still like the Tejas and/or the Aermacchi MB-326. Either of those 3 would be fine for the EAF IMO.

Still unreal they haven't been able to acquire the Longbow radar with all the recent billions of $ put into upgrades of all the EAF's 36 Apache helos to the AH-64D configuration plus another 10 E models they requested in 2018, especially when it's hardly cutting-edge technology anymore.
