It is all about politics if you ask me, more like of a Cold War.

Iran and Saudi Arabia used to have good relations before oil was discovered. There was trade and the relations were cordial. No one (except for the extreme nutjobs) cared about sects.
This "cold war" nonsense is being imposed from outside, and the rivalry is just ancient crap that is being exploited.
