Egypt keen on restoring Turkey ties

.
Holy crap the AKP under Davutoglu is slowing cleaning up Erdogan's mess. Perhaps out of neccesity but this is still a huge step at strenghtening our influence and countering Russia and Iran. You can see how politics really work, allies and enemies are made in a day's time.

We lost Russia but gained Israel and Egypte. This is just getting better by the day.

Well more importantly you lost Allah(SWT). Anybody who aides Israel in any manner and enables them to oppress and murder the people's of the nation of Muhammad(SAW) will never be forgiven by God. Valueing ethics and have principles nowadays leads one into isolation. That only reminds us of the miserable state of humanity. It is better to be a dead person these days.

However all this oppression, immorality and inhumanity will never cause me to abandon the principles God ordained upon us. Us people who geniunely seek justice should not lose hope. Prophet Muhammad(SAW) went through worse and this is exactly how it began for him. Everyone rejected his calls and expelled him from his city. Yet he vowed to make Gods word prevail. And inshallah today is a reflection of a past. With time , effort and steadfastness we will restore justice and morality on this earth.

Egypt since 2013 has expressed its willingness to restore ties with Turkey.

The only point of contention has been Turkish (Erdogan) meddling in Egyptian political affairs. The coupvolution of 2013 and the subsequent crisis in Egypt had no effects on Turkish (the nation state that is) interests and the Egyptian regime hasn't interfered in internal or even external Turkish affairs (even when there is ample opportunity to do so).

Currently, Turkey (the Egyptian public makes no distinction between the ruling party and the Turkish deep state) isn't very popular with the Egyptian public as a result of being a key political supporter and financier of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Russian narrative of it being a chief financier of IS has also gained traction.

Restoring ties will certainly take a long time, the key points of contention will be support of the Muslim Brotherhood and public perceptions in both countries.

One thing is for certain though, Egypt will not compromise on sentences handed out to MB leadership figures. If the current Turkish political leadership can't restore ties despite this, then I guess both states will wait out until both regimes bite the dust. Both nations are very old, a few decades (give or take) will not make a difference on the long run.

If Egypt can't find alternative to Russian tourists then it is doomed. Egypt needs Turkey, it has large population and is close to it. Turkish people can fill in missing tourism gap. I'm trying to think of what Turkey will gain from Egypt....Maybe you can tell us. But in my opinion I dont believe path pro-Sisi folks choose is right. Persecution/crackdown is a recipe for disaster. Even if it doesn't have short term consequence. It's like human eating fast food like sport and ignoring warnings by others. Only to have a fatal heart attack later.

The whole region is heading this way. There will be a giant Islamic explosion one day by the furious youth that will kill, stab, erase, destroy injustice. Injustice will be utterly destroyed and there's nothing you would be able to do about it. Terrorists and supporters of injustice will be helpless. It will die, period. End of discussion. Anti Muslim bigots like you will have their heads low in shame. Your threats and conspiracy against the nation of Muhammad will heed no results and blow up in your faces. We choose Allah and you can't change that. We won't submit to Israel even if you kill all our families. You're a failure and a junky, evil people. Our religion commands us to destroy evil and injustice. The furious Muslim youth will take the gloves off soon. We will defend our people at any cost. The Muslims being persecuted will know there is a whole nation of muslim youth there to stand behind them.

The Egyptian tourist industry has been suffering for quite some time, this latest set back will be painful but it is a valuable lesson to the current and future administrations. Egypt can no longer rely on its tourist business and revenue. Diversification is the name of the game and the tourism industry will only recover until true stability/security is restored and the industry modernised and professionalised.

It's of note that some international (Russians or otherwise) flights are only restircted from flying to Sharm. Every other destination is not restricted thus far.

What it had before ties were severed.

A diplomatic ally that wouldn't lobby against Turkey on the international scene. A diplomatic ally that has a non-permanent security council seat and currently heads the UNs Counter Terrosim Committee when both nations are facing insurgent threats.

Egypt lobbying successfully to stop Turkey gaining a seat in the UN security council comes to mind as an adverse side effect of soured relations.

Military ties to a Major Non-Nato ally that will commit to defence purchases and cooperation. Also, a potential ally in a military coalition in which they will have to be inter operable.

Ties with a potential gas giant that is increasingly warming relations with Cyprus and Greece.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a balanced relationship but there are still many things that can be of interest to Turkey as a state. Certainly far more than supporting the Muslim Brotherhood is currently. Although that's more of a political leadership thing.

But in my opinion I dont believe path pro-Sisi folks choose is right. Persecution/crackdown is a recipe for disaster. Even if it doesn't have short term consequence. It's like human eating fast food like sport and ignoring warnings by others. Only to have a fatal heart attack later.

Depends how intense the crackdown is and who it targets. Political Islamists and the Egyptian left have been reliant on the Egyptian apolitical masses to effect change or even revolt, and not the other way round. Although, those groups can certainly provide the impetus.

However, that impetus usually follows an event or campaign that can gain traction. On the 25th it was the fallout of the Tunisian revolution and on the 30th it was the six month grass roots campaign that followed a series of blunders by the incumbent administration. The MB and the Egyptian left have tried for the past three years to replicate this in some way on every anniversary imaginable and have failed, the apolitical masses just weren't interested in the bullshit they keep on trying to sell.

The oppression and crackdowns have been a constant for Egypt, it alone will not force a revolution.

I think it's time you went to bed or have some tea or whatever you do to relieve stress.

Yes, but question is how soon can Egypt decrease it's dependence on tourism. Your security situation is nowhere as bad as others make it. If I wanted to go to Sharm Al Shiekh tomorrow I'll do it. What's preventing me is lack of professionalism in tourist attraction sites all across Egypt. The police/municipality force , whatever you want to call them also do a poor job and are always looking for ways to squeeze money out of people.

But its still one country. Turkey has NATO backing in international scene. Not that I wouldn't want beneficial ties between Turkey and Egypt. I just can't see it with the modern mindset people in this region have. It's dissappointing to say the least.

Military ties to a Major Non-Nato ally that will commit to defence purchases and cooperation. Also, a potential ally in a military coalition in which they will have to be inter operable.

All on a small scale. Saudi Arabia invested a lot into Egypt. It didn't get much in form of military coalition assistance. Was largely symbolic.

Ties with a potential gas giant that is increasingly warming relations with Cyprus and Greece.

Agree with gas, however kissing up to Cyprus and greece solely to hit back at Turkey doesn't mean much. Those 'relations' will never materalize.

If we base of our actions this way, ie do something wrong if we don't see consequence then we are a failed people.

I'm not going to get into the rest. Because I dont see what the current adminstration has to offer. Nothing has changed in Egypt. Under Muslim brotherhood people expected a change in Egypt and overall Arab world. Which would have been interesting to experience.

I think it's time you went to bed or have some tea or whatever you do to relieve stress.

It's easy to just dismiss everything and have no principles. I can't do that as a Muslim. But you're right, I do over think things. Maybe this sincerity will have a benefit in it. Maybe one day you will remember me for changing the world.

We all oppose Abbas, members of Fatah also do. Israel protects him militarily and no one can change anything currently. God requires us to hold on tightly to his rope. This means humans shouldn't abandon his principles even if we are powerful enough to do so. What this means is we no longer respect God. And that should be concerning to anyone who is sincere about him. So my message to Israelis and all people around world is to rethink what they represent today. Don't look at everything mmaterially. Materially, we have achieved a lot. Look at our personal charasterics. With this, most humans will still move on and be deaf. Doesn't mean the remainder of us can't bring change.

If Hamas was able to liberate Palestine but afterwards adopted a path that most people take nowadays(injustice, corruption, immorality, carelessness, interests over well being of humans) then I will stand against them too. The problem with people is they don't share this mindset of mine. It's very hard to find people who have ethics, morals and solid principles which derive from God. If we had more people like this, the world will not be as it is today.

To be realistic

Egypt's strategic interests are completely inconsistent with Turkey

Egypt in their interest to prevent the Turks and the Iranians interventions in the Middle East There are four countries that are hostile to Egypt on a regional level, Israel, Ethiopia Iran and Turkey

In the interest of Egypt to prevent the import of Turkish products to activate the Egyptian industrial output Turkey supports terrorists and criminals in the Middle East
They must be punished for their crimes

Statements made minister Egyptian diplomacy but will not be implemented on the ground, but rather intended to provide a completely different Egypt in that it does not want a feud with one and that it is straining relations Erdogan Brotherhood gang and throw the ball in the canned Turks

Turkey is now in an internal civil war with the Kurds,

Russians ban imposed by Turkey and knelt down to Israel to Israeli gas

Faced with Egypt now has an opportunity to tighten the siege against the Turks responded strikes them understand supported terrorists in Egypt with weapons and support media and tried to punish Egypt in the Security Council does

Egypt waive its right to punish Turkey
Egyptian regime I do not know why withholds import from Turkey to close the door to accelerate the fall of the
Turkish system process It is not only Egyptian imports from Turkey worth $ 3 billion But the Turkish economy is now out of the market in front of him thus any Egyptian strike will be next to Russian influence on the violent Turks

It is the idiot who wants relations with the State of ripe time of their punishment for their crimes against Egypt and its people Some say the Turks are Muslims application of Islam and did not see the Turks to Islam, but terrorism and criminality
the right of us to spend them and expel them again from the Middle East

It should not be in our interests to support one entity (mb) in Egypt. It is in our interests to form close relationship and not meddle in internal issues of Egypt. It is in both nations interest to form energy partnerships and economic partnership in many areas.

Lol I just laughed at most of what you said. We are in civil war? That's news to me. Egypt will lose as much as us if not more with bad relations.

Egypt is an enemy of turkey , they supported Cyprus in the 60' against turkey and they will do anything to hurt turkey if they could

turkey should not trust this shitty country , it's not just matter of current political problem between the two countries but it's a history of rivalry , Egyptian got a great hate and jealousy toward turkey

I doubt any significant improvement under akp. Egypt does not need turkey as bad.
