"Sending Arab troops to Syria is a possibility that is being discussed by officials from various countries, Egypt's foreign minister was quoted as saying in a state newspaper on Friday.

"In regards to the situation in Syria, Shoukry said that the idea of replacing forces with another that may be Arab is a possibility," Al-Ahram quoted Sameh Shoukry as saying.

"This proposition is not only being discussed by the media, but also during discussions and deliberations amongst officials of states to look into how these ideas could contribute to stabilising Syria," Al-Ahram quoted Shoukry as saying."

Daily Sabah is Turkish state sponsored media outlet, yes? What's the matter, they're too afraid of pissing off Erdogan to call Sisi "the Egyptian president," instead, it's "the former general of the Egyptian military?"

Egyptian FM did not mention Egypt.. he talked about what is already known from US sources, that the US wants Arab troops to replace its own troops, but as far as we know now from Mattis statements, the US is not going to leave before a political solution for Syria is found.. Egypt itself refused to send troops to Syria after receiving requests many times..

President Erdogan said today that Turkey isn't going to leave Afrin until all threats are eliminated then next is Idlib, Tel Rifaat and Manbij. I believe, it will move towards eastern Syria.

Terror groups daily threaten the lives of Arabic population under US protection.

Lol true, saying 'Saudi puppet' would also be appropriate since it seems some Egyptians have no shame at all

The Wall Street Journal reported last month that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump was seeking to assemble an Arab force to replace the U.S. military contingent in Syria.
