The thing with officially / legally / technically / formally banning inter faith marriages is that you can't stop at just that. Can you control how two human beings interact? Or is it old Hindi movie style, where a chumma scene is substituted with shaking flowers?

The famous landmark called Lal Chowk in Srinagar, capital of current India-administered Kashmir, was named so before Partition by local Muslim and Sikh Communists taking inspiration from the Red Square in Moscow in their agitation against Hari Singh, the raja of the region.

This is not about preventing interfaith marriages, but rather, another tool to arrest those Muslim men who cannot be arrested under beef or cow slaughter laws or triple talaaq laws.

Its not just about India. As you can see, a lot of Pakistani members seem to be only too eager to jump on the 'ban' bandwagon.
