Effects of Billion Tree Tsunami - clearly visible after 4 years

I remember people making fun of IK and PTI when they started this initiative. our people's mindset is still very limited, all they want is a pakka gutter, and they will be happy. they dont give a crap about environment.

Hahaha... also, the number of billion trees campaign trees (that was supposed to be 1 billion), reached to 1.2+ billion. :agree:

i am happy from his performance and if one ask me to list the deprtments in decending order that he improved the most, i will say

1. Education department.
2. Health (soecially the service structure of doctors and nurses).
3. Police
4. Awarness (Poltical, social, environmental)

Also initiated Land reforms by digitizing records eliminating the need to deal with corrupt patwaris, patwaris cant unfairly change records anymore plus you can get land records through their online portal, no need to visit kachehri. Imagine That! only if you've tried to get accurate land records, you would know what a big change that is.

That too. But that didn’t make it to my list. I have some other priorities so, also, i have some reservations regaridng “going computerize” thing. You know while digitalising the land records in Punjab, patwaris alloted all shamilaat lands to themselves and relatives ? Who knows what our patwaris did in this process.

We should adopt this strategy in. Bangladesh.

Don't know who came up with such an excellent idea. But whoever it was, he did a splendid job.

Saplings at a nursery in KP as part of the hugely successful and internationally acclaimed Billion Tree Tsunami Afforestation Project.
Soon will be time to dig up the saplings and replant. Does anyone know the plan for where they're supposed to go?

That's How Billion Tree Tsunami Has Changed The Whole Country.

Billion Tree Tsunami: A Tale of Imran Khan’s Extraordinary Vision

Prior to Elections 2013, our party launched a comprehensive “Environmental Policy”; something unprecedented in Pakistan before. As soon as we assumed KPK government, we now had the means to implement our policies and manifesto across the province.

In 2014, the PTI-led KPK government launched the visionary Billion Tree Tsunami. The afforestation project included 732 million new saplings, 27 million self-growing saplings that were taken into preservation, 240 million saplings after procurement and 153 million saplings distributed among the public.

Billion Tree Tsunami has been acknowledged by WWF and this project makes Pakistan to be one of the countries that have successfully completed the Bonn Challenge.

The project of the Billion Tree Tsunami has changed the whole country. The project has been admired by multiple international media outlets as well. Let's have a look at the impacts of Billion Tree Tsunami:

Environment:

The environmental change is the biggest achievement of Billion Tree Tsunami. Plantation of almost 1.2 billion trees has changed the course of the environment in the of the province. It is not only leaving the positive environmental impacts on KPK but also affecting the whole country in a positive way. That's the reason ever Pakistani wants the same kind of plantation in the whole country.

International Praise:

The Billion Tree Tsunami project has been declared a Green Gold by AFP in their story.

Following is the list of some more International Media outlets praising the Billion Tree Tsunami - Click on the names to view :

  • “Cricket-star turned politician Imran Khan launched the green initiative in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” The Independent
  • “Pakistan’s northwestern province, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), has planted an unprecedented 1 billion trees in just more than two years” VOA News
  • “Pakistan’s Billion Tree Tsunami restores 350,000 hectares of forests” IUCN
  • “'Billion tree tsunami' surges across northern Pakistan” REUTERS
  • “Pakistan investing $150m in billion-tree reforestation” AlJazeera
Economic Boost:

About 13000 govt and private nurseries were set up in the whole province and an estimated 500,000 green jobs were created.

These were some of the prominent outcomes of the Billion Tree Tsunami Project - It has started showing its result and it will be benefiting the upcoming generations of the country.

Impact:

The afforestation has affected the environment in an extremely positive manner. In addition to environmental changes, about 13,000 government and private nurseries were set up in the whole province and an estimated 500,000 green jobs were created

Well that kinda stuff goes into the purview of administration, brilliant reforms and newer technologies have to be implemented with efficient oversight otherwise corrupt elements take advantage, i have no knowledge of how much embezzlement took place but i do know that the end product is supposed to make life easier for the common man

.
man we need billion trees yearly for next 15 years
It's best not to focus on the numbers but to do the job correctly, consulting with end-user stakeholders. Otherwise you risk planting varieties nobody wants and the trees remain in the nurseries until in a few years they grow so large they die en masse from competition for soil and light due to being planted too close together: you'll breed deserts, not forests, the topsoil having been converted to dead wood and leaves and blowing away in the wind.

IK understands this - that's been part of the project in KP. Does the rest of Pakistan grasp this yet?

.
That's a good step but we still need more trees.
We also need to organize traffic, so that less pollution is generated.

This is way to close to each other. Some idiot was in charge of this plantation.
If possible they shall remove on sapling from in between.
