EDITOR QUITS, COLUMNISTS DROPPED: PAKISTAN ARMY ‘HAS CHOKED ALL DISSENT’

It seems that is what is happening hence the editor resigned. This kind of intimidation tactic will further reinforce the editors claim of oppression against journalists. Irrespective of what the editor did it is already a acknowledged fact that pakistan is a military state and nawaz is just a facade.

Editors do not have a freeway to write whatever they wish....plain and simple...when they write rubbish..the need to be thrown out..we are not a rising shining india!

And by the way one of your renowned artist got thrown out by Hindu extremist and 100's of writers have returned their awards..worry more about your country....

First comment from the post says it all;

Talpur are Sindhi, not Bloch. And the Indian express would do well by checking the gallop surveys in Pakistan. They would know that general is today the most popular man, according lol the New York Times. He brought peace to the nation, we don't think India likes those who bring that precious commodity to Pakistan.

Yeah, bin them and throw them in the garbage dump. Dont need their propaganda.

Its bad for Pakistan nascent democracy.

It seems Military Chief hero-worship is being portrayed rather than actual people volunteering
Funny how Indians crying about Freedom of speech when Amir Khan was threatened, and a court case filed against him for hurting Hindu feelings.
wasnt that right of free speech?

Marxist and Communist are a nuisance all over the world..I dont support silencing them only in the media..I belive ISI should make covert hit squads and take out this Marxist and communist scum like this writer and Tarek Fatah!
For first time I completely agree with you.

n Karachi, The chief is a damn hero, and you can just about ask anyone. Unless ofcourse, they're from a political party Whos militant wing got wiped out. :p

Therein lies the problem. Unlike civilized countries, where elections decide the mandate, governments in Pakistan function on the basis of "ask anyone". That, I am afraid, is a recipe for disaster.

So you are calling pakistan an uncivilised nation? Who gave you the right to pass such a judgement? Do people in china decide the mandate? Are they uncivilised as well? We are a democracy although we have had problems with it in the past we are still growing. Dont forget its only been about 70 years since we became independent and did not inherit a functioning democratic system unlike india. If our army chief is a messiah to us then its our matter you or in that case any foreigner has no right to pass judgement on that!

You are tying yourself in knots here. After declaring that China's undemocratic existence endorses lack of democracy everywhere, you then rush to point out that Pakistan is a democracy as well. Make up your mind about which you wish to defend - China's autocracy or Pakistan's (shambolic) democracy.

Now your making no sense.
No point in an argument here.

No.
What does this have to with what I just said.

Okay. To cut it short. There are democracies that are not doing well. But there are democracies that are doing well also. In fact, all the flourishing countries in this world happen to be democracies (except Singapore). And there are no flourishing dictatorships and autocracies. That's it.

A nation fighting an enemy which has infiltrated covertly with cunning into the inside, does not need an agent provocateur posing as an editor/columnist.
