fact- we purchased LNG expensive even when it was low at world market - why?Fact. Pakistan will save $ 1 Billion annually with the LNG projects and its is cheaper than what we are producing with Oil.
The worlds largest and show sha might be another trick to get votes:Solar park completed its first phase of 100 MW. Other Phases of 900 MW are to follow within the next 2 years which will make it the world's largest. It may seem like its expensive but its not. There is no operational cost. Its free energy !
http://edition.cnn.com/2016/02/08/africa/ouarzazate-morocco-solar-plant/
Here are the facts:
Paksitan:
capacity to generate 1,000 MW
a cost of about $131 million
14 to 15 US cents per kWh
Morocco:
2,000 megawatts
$573.8bn - have a power cable link to Europe
electricity produced for $0.19/kW·h
So it isnt the largest ... Unless they mean largest in size? That I dont know much about...Morocco is using different cells hence the expense but still costly though!
That is good to know but wonder how much research they put in...from past projects I understand their idea of research is sending uneducated people overseas or bringing scientists from overseas to brief uneducated "leaders" about things they dont understand and just blindly sign - anghuta chaap styleBiomass projects are under construction in Punjab
I dont know, try zoom in!Are there a lot of forests ?
Yes, they are needed but not compulsory! Almost every country on the planet built dams for hydroelectric power to get industrialized- now we have alternatives for energy but not soo much for floods- which we can see Punjab facing and having a fixed govt for 3 decades, it shows nothing has been done despite the stability and some people have the audacity to question a new govt in KPK in its 1st round as a govt, of a very much ignored province....kind of shows how much you think of Noon - their 3 decades of experience in 1 place is = to 1st round govt in an underdeveloped provinceBut you were saying dams are needed to stop flooding and for industrialization practices
From 1993? Are you telling highly educated Pakistanis dont have an updated research since 1993?
You do realize the book has Conocarpus lancifolius in it - how can this be not native and will destroy Pakistan? Maybe not to be grown in KPK but recently Peshawar did suffer flooding so I think the dynamics have changed SINCE 1993
And I already gave the forest types- maybe you didnt read my post!
The Acacia the ecologist in OP suggested was also not native to Pakistan....it was adopted - at least that is what 1993 book says and it says I quote "It has been successfully planted and is adapted to many areas of Pakistan"
- interesting enough, this isnt in your reference bookhe said, suggesting that environment only support Ziziphus nummularia.
He went on to say that ecologists propose to grow acacia, monotheca and olea, acaiamodesta, dilbergiasiso, acaianilotica, zizyphus, rhizastricta and vitexnegundo, which are extremely environment-friendly.
According to the book: Acacia modesta- DISTRIBUTION: This tree is native to Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India. In Pakistan it is found below 1200 m in the foothill ranges of the Himalayas, Salt Range, Sulaiman Hills, Balochistan and Kirthar Range. It is also found in the plains close to these mountains.
Acacia modesta: A frost-resistant and drought-tolerant tree ideal for alleviating feed shortages and feeding costs - http://www.icarda.org/sites/default/files/Acacia_modesta_FactSheet.pdf
He got Acacia nilotica right - DISTRIBUTION: This tree is native to Pakistan and is found in the Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan and NWFP. It is wild as well as extensively cultivated throughout the world, usually below 600 m in elevation.
Zizyphus mauritiana Lam. (Rhamnaceae)
DISTRIBUTION: The tree is native to South Asia including Pakistan. It has been successfully cultivated in many parts of the world. It can be seen throughout Pakistan but it grows best at lower elevations in the Punjab, NWFP, Sindh and Balochistan.
The rest are equally not native....at least were in 1993 book
