Earth with Same Size as Sun

Apart from the Gravity, if we hypothetically believe that gravity remain constant living on a enlarge world would still be very exciting .

Sure, we might even think of the larger picture of colonizing +networking planets and other star systems...to get that total resource/surface area availability as well. Same kind of deal.

.
I could do the pressure calc a bit later....even if its not fusion inducing...there could be severe other problems.

At some point we have to make another universe hypothetical for some stuff to pan out....and at that point again "its across the singularity" so how relevant is it really etc.

I was once watching a Documentary, about a huge star .. In which i heard that the size of that Planet was so ridiculously big that if someone is traveling in a Passenger plane , it will take 200 years to circle that Star :O

.
it may throw our poor moon off its axis ..
I think that mega sun would collapse on its own gravity and we would end up with a black hole, so moon business would be least of our problems.Kudos Starlord

The bigger the stars, the quicker they die out in a supernova. We are lucky that our star is the size it is. It makes it longer lasting.

A rocky planet can't form a sun.

A thought exercise really if they get so large (they don't in the universe we observe so far) that solid fusion starts to happen at the core....I mean you literally can keep adding more and more mass (Esp the way mass scales up w.r.t radius)...till you get phenomenal pressures in the centre (similar to how metallic hydrogen is postulated to exist in gas giant cores currently). Its essentially open bounded system....but yes somewhat irrelevant to the current universe.

I think it will depends on Helium and Hydrogen , as long as star has fusion process going on its core it wont collapse on itself, and even than it might turn into a red dwarf . but yeah Moon would be least of our concern but you know bro, in such a case, the moon will become important as it will become more hospitable for life .

It would all depend on the mass of the Sun, what was it hypothetically????/

smaller stars are more unstable, emits gamma Radiation and solar winds .. it wont be wrong to say that whoever picks up sun to form a planetary system, he picked up right ..

if we are increasing the Size of Earth to the size of Sun, than Sun would have to be 1.3 Million times larger than the Earth .

Theories have existed predicting upper limits of a star's mass ranging from 10 to 1000 solar masses. The biggest star discovered has a solar mass of 150. In any case a million solar mass is most likely too big for it to remain a star...it most likely would turn into a black hole. @Starlord

Bhai that would exceed the size of any star in the universe, the biggest stars have solar masses between 250-300 solar masses and they burn out very very rapidly in comparison to our sun.Kudos Starlord

I'm not denying fusion. It would most likely occur...but radiation can't travel through a rocky body as it can through a gasseous body...so earth wouldn't shine like a star in the visible spectrum at least. It would heat up the core a lot and give earth an infrared glow.

Another thing is that with gasseous stars, the exchange of different materials is easier, since the gasses can pass through each other. For rocky planets, the exchange of materials from surface to the center can take millennia. So earth would be limited in fusing the materials...it would only have access to what's in the core.

Have you guys ever wonder that if our World ( Planet Earth ) was the size equal as our Sun, and Sun would be 1 Million times the size of our over sized earth .. How would we as humans would evolve ? and Colonized the huge Earth ? Our Sun is relatively a huge Star, with the radius of 695,508 km , compared to that our earth is just 6,371 km Radius , And we as Humans Evolved according to it, But what if the Earth was the Size of Sun and our Sun was (1 million) times of our earth , how would life on such a huge planet would be ? The resources on such a planet would be huge, land mass would be far greater for more humans , more creatures to evolved and thrive , more countries and Empires , It would have been a world with so many Super Powers .. Even travelling from one end to the other would be interesting and because of its huge Size we as humans have to come up with more faster way to travel . It brings up the thought that does the size of our planet limits our technological Advancements ? Everything from communication , Transportation or Military technology would have to be redefined ? Weather Patterns , Natural Disasters , Dangerous Species ? Will it be all different how we know it ? or it will be same but just BIG .

Lets keep the GRAVITY Constant ..

@Starlord nice question even though it seems very difficult because such a large mass is stellar mass meaning it will collapse under influence of gravity and fusion will start. But let's say no fusion happens due to some reason, the gravity will limit the growth of anything on the surface... Our heights are limited due to gravity on the Earth so imagine on a planet the size of the sun, humans won't be able to grow beyond a few millimetres and that will limit the body function and intelligence etc... so there is no chance of the existence of intelligent life... though micro-organisms may exist...

What are you talking about? If the fusion starts the core of the planet, soon it will turn into a burning ball if rock and metal.. Do you know that the plasma at the core of the sun is the densest material in the solar system. It it so dense that a photon takes nearly a 100,000 years to leave the core while it takes only 8 minutes to reach the Earth from the Sun.. so all these rocks will melt or be glowing like incandescent bulb emitting radians like anything

If humans were made of steel and taller than the length between moon and earth, then there was a probability of life on this huge earth...
