With millions of people around the globe participating in the celebration of the eighth edition of the Earth Hour to show their support for environmental issues ranging from deforestation to energy efficiency, many events are being held across Delhi and other parts of India to mark the day.
Lights will be switched off in homes, offices and famous landmarks at 8.30 pm on Saturday for an hour to mark WWF's annual Earth Hour. While BSES has appealed to customers to support the event and voluntarily switch off their non-essential electricity for an hour, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), which organizes the Earth Hour in India, is launching a campaign in CBSE schools to promote renewable energy it has been learnt.
