First and foremost thing the Chinese government could do is change these crazy laws that make it more economically viable for a person to kill a victim they hit rather than leave them living.

Paying for all of their medical care for the rest of their life is insane.

Thats not a crazy law, imo, it sounds fair to me. If I get injured by someone, then that person should compensate for my lost. If my lost cost a fortune, then they should pay that too. Why should I, as the victim, bear the brunt of the cost if I was innocent?

In developed country, they might do it differently though...just pay insurance (state own or private) and the insurance company will cover your bills so you dont have to kill your victims to save cost.

But we should not only show grace to the criminal, we should try to change them, and change ourselves.



Yes, we are all not perfect. But deep down in our heart, we all still have some goodness, from which we can change ourselves.

Misread the article, I thought it said they paid for all their medical care for the rest of their life, not just costs related to the accident such as rehabilitation or a prosthetic or w/e.

Affordable auto insurance is a necessity.



The other option would be to raise the cost of killing someone in an accident (doesn't sound viable, this would economically ruin anyone who got in a bad accident regardless of their intent)

Or to crack down on local judicial corruption ( these cases can only be corruption/bribery)
