With Python-5 BVR.. its gonna be a deadly bird.

Nothing much is known about range of Israeli BVR-AAMs..
Python-5 has a range of around 20 km. while the max. range of DERBY is still not known..Somewhere i read that it underperformed while when i talked to someone linked he just laughed it off.

Do you have any concrete regarding this..? According to me The lethal combination is METEOR+Python-5 + DERBY..

Follow this step..........go to www.youtube.com.....then search for LCA TEJAS.........you will see many videos of LCA tejas flying.....btw for ur information LCA will be getting operational clearence in next 2 months....and induction to be started by next year....

Good to know the project has really kicked off.. I bet since its in medium catagory , surely there will be naval version.

I think we started the work on Avionics and other inner stuff ... But work on stealth and super cruise should happen after FGFA.. just my perception..

I have yet to see a good viable result of the claimed "Experience" from failed or yet to be completed projects...Tejas has still to pass the testing phase,and they are talking about an indigenous 5th generation.

Yes buddy you are yet to see the result.. but we are already seeing it.. We are not you who always create successful product on zeroth try.. We think big and we give product what is viable for our needs.. We have full confidence on our scientist that AMCA will be successful as we are taking lessons from Russia before we try... Pretty sure it wont be another Tejas-1 saga because this will have Russia Input more

Generally speaking its more modern than the Chinease Built JF17 Thunder by half a generation at least

Heres a latst version of LCA may well be LSP4 these are going to take TEJAS TI IOC initial operational clearance in Dec 2010

This fighter is equipped with American engines General electric
Carrys an NEW indian radar but with israeli elta 320 core in the hybrid

Fires both Russian and Israeli weapons and a BRAND NEW ASTRA BVR missle which is indian

rcs is very low due to big composite build structure.

ITS A VERY GOOD EFFORT FROM THE INDIANS

Given indians the platform confidence to build the 5th generation fighter too. EVEYTHING IS IN PLACE ie wind tunnels, labs, workshop. project managers, enginners and strong links with sukhoi. EADSs and ELTA if indians need help inncertain areas

somebozo as of now over 200 sorties have been flown only for weapons testing.. Tejas can fire LGB's/dumb bombs and R-73.. while integration of BVR's Python and R-77 will be achieved before FOC.. As said Tejas will become the backbone and Tejas-2 will be the fighter that will replace whole of Mig-21,23 and to some extent Mig-27 and Mirages .. Tejas-1 will have less weapons because of the Migration of existing Radars to AESA for Tejas-2

Ohh and the indigenous "kaveri" engines are not ready either!

But Tejas is one hell of a good looking fighter only next to EF-2000!
