DRDO needs to come up with MPVs for this serving in J&K and in Naxal areas as the OFB produced one has shown some serious weaknesses. Wonder why the MAHINDRA/TATA MPVs haven't been ordered yet?

Yes, I'm sure they can. But that's not the point, I'm talking about MPVs that are despretly needed by the Army and Patamilitaey in Naxal ops where they are finding the outdated OFB MPV falling short. A recent attack which killed 16 CRPF happened although they were travelling in these OFB MPVs. The anti-mine vechile above is only going to be used in wide open mine fields but the real threat nowadays (as IA, CRPF and US in Afghan) is finding out is the IED for which this DRDO vehicle is next to useless but what the Mahindra and TATA MPVs are designed for. Any idea. If we can expect an order?

bro .. i was gonna post the same thing about recent IED attack on MPV...but i thought pics were a bit gory ....its real saddening ....about TATA MPV's not sure if they are inductd within crpf..

yes there is no shortage of options for IA/Paramilitary but I doesn't seem that either organisation is interested. Almost every month a new "armoured" vehicle is realised in India (Marksmen, Dhruv, TATA/AL/MAHONDRA MPV, STRYKER, VIPER ETC) but no one in Indian defence establishment seems to show any interest in them even though they are so desperately needed. Any clue when/if IA/CRPF are going to realise an RFI (at least) for some MPVs? The US army/USMC are operating THOUSANDS of MPVs (MRAPS) not to far away for a much smaller force (100,000) and the IA barely has 300 and the CRPF 50. It is a complete and UTTER JOKE which brave men pay for in BLOOD.
