Dr Shamshad vows all obligations, including those with IMF, will be fulfilled

She graduated from the University of Punjab with a B. A. Economics degree in 1974. Dr. Shamshad Akhtar has an M.Sc. in Economics from the Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad, an M.A. in Development Economics from the University of Sussex in 1977 and a Ph.D. in Economics from the U.K.’s Paisley College of Technology in 1980. She is a post-doctoral fellowship Fulbright Scholar and was a visiting fellow at the Department of Economics, Harvard University in 1987.

Her predecessor had not even studied economics as a cursory subject. He was an accountant. He was illiterate (and innumerate) in economics. This lady can chew him and spit him out any day of the week and twice on a Sunday.

She was adviser on finance in the PDM govt and sat in cabinet meetings too.

Poor men of punjab were so gullible that when IK brought up insurance after 3 years of work in punjab they were saying it was maryum nawaz

Now they have realized that they were scammed but question is what kinda person gets scammed 8 times???

One of these obligations is probably what is compelling the government to raise the electricity prices.

Is water privatized in Pakistan? If not, God forbid they privatize water like what happened in South America to meet debt payments.

Government should be working on ways to bring investment to get people employed in jobs that can help at least live paycheck to paycheck.

Thanks to the nod from the US Deep State, as long as the free flow of narcotics from Afganistan continues along with the porous border with Iran financing is no issue....

She is obeying the IMF
Are you saying she is adjusting exchange rate per market conditions? If not, foreign currency will go into black market and the government will run out of foreign exchange soon. The thing to remember is, a banker or a politician doesn't have a whole lot of influence on exchange rates. That primarily depends on market forces. Which in turn eventually depend on productivity of Pakistan's workers. That depends on education, skills and investments in productive assets. The exchange rate you see today represents sum total of all decisions take publicly and privately by the people of Pakistan over the last 20 to 30 years. Simply blaming (or lauding) Dr Shamshad or anyone else for weakening or strengthening currency is irrational.

imf ask you to earn and spend 100 rs
Never ask u to do taxes

It's up to govt how to balance books

I like to make a small change: IMF asks you to earn before spending 100 rs. At 76, you are a very big boy and should learn to wear pants and walk on two legs. No more crawling on all four and definitely, no diapers.
