US got owned!
Afridi was convicted for his links with terrorist and not because of his fake vaccination campaign and his links to CIA, as that was out of jurisdiction of court hearing the case.
US still wants to side with Afridi the terrorist funder?
And what about propaganda waged against Pakistan after the decision of court?

Dr Shakil Afridi jailed for ‘militant links’

PESHAWAR:
The court that convicted Dr Shakil Afridi who helped find Osama bin Laden jailed him for alleged ties to a warlord and not working for the CIA, according to the verdict obtained by AFP Wednesday.

Dr Afridi was last week sentenced to 33 years in prison and found guilty of treason under tribal justice.

A copy of the May 24 verdict said evidence that the accused acted “with other foreign intelligence agencies” could not be taken into account “for the lack of jurisdiction” in the tribal belt.

Instead, it recommended the evidence “be produced before the relevant concerned court for further proceedings under the law,” raising the prospect that Dr Afridi could yet face another trial for treason.

Dr Afridi’s sentencing was met by anger in the United States where the Senate Appropriations Committee voted to cut aid to Pakistan by a symbolic $33 million.

In January, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta confirmed that Afridi had worked for US intelligence by collecting DNA to verify Bin Laden’s presence in the town of Abbottabad where Navy SEALs killed the al Qaeda leader in May 2011.

But the court order said Afridi had “close links” to Lashkar-e-Islam, saying the doctor’s “love” for the group’s leader Mangal Bagh “and association with him was an open secret.”

It said the accused provided two million rupees ($22,000) to Lashkar-e-Islam and helped to provide medical assistance to militant commanders in Khyber.

Officials in Afridi’s home district of Khyber refused to elaborate. Mutahir Zeb Khan, the top administrator, said only: “Reasons given in the judgement are very clear and that’s it.”

On Tuesday, doctor Fuwad Khan, director general of health services in the tribal belt, refuted a smear campaign that Afridi was corrupt and a womaniser.

“There was no complaint against him on the record so no inquiry has ever been conducted as per the official record,” he told AFP.

Explains why he was tried under FCR and not under normal laws.

Now what difference will the release of the exact judgement make to all? Having militant links too? My o my Mr Afridi - you have been a busy naughty boy. Running out of friends fast.....

.
lol...i get that he was arrested for working for the CIA, but they added this too?

My, my, what's stopping the Pakistani authorities from arresting Nawaz Sharif and the other terrorist sympathizers in PML-N? After all, they also have “close links” to a particular terrorist outfit (JuD aka LeJ).

EDIT:

Here's what he was originally sentenced to:

Officials said Dr Shakil Afridi who worked as a government surgeon was also fined Rs320,000 and in case of default he would have to undergo an additional three years imprisonment.

They said Dr Afridi had been tried at the office of assistant political agent (APA) in Bara. He was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment each under section 121 A (conspiracy to wage war against Pakistan or depriving it of its sovereignty), section 123 (concealing existence of a plan to wage war against Pakistan/depriving it of sovereignty) and 123 A (Condemnation of the creation of the state and advocacy of abolition of its sovereignty) of the Pakistan Penal Code. He was sentenced to an additional three years in jail under section 124 (assaulting president, governor, etc, with intention to compel or restrain the exercise of any lawful power).

Shakil Afridi’s sentence overturned; retrial ordered
Staff Report

PESHAWAR: The 33-year jail sentence of Shakil Afridi, the tribal doctor who allegedly helped the CIA track down al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, was overturned on Thursday after the appeal against his conviction was upheld.

Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR) Commissioner Sahibzada Muhammad Anees, who acted as judicial official in the case, ruled that the previous judge in the case exceeded his authority while handing down the sentence.

Anees set aside the previous decision made by Assistant Political Agent Nasir Khan in the semi-autonomous Khyber tribal region, and ordered that retrial of Dr Shakil be held by the political agent as sessions judge.

Dr Shakil was picked soon after the US raid on Osama’s compound in Abbottabad on May 2, 2011, because of his alleged role in helping the CIA track down the al Qaeda leader. He ran a fake vaccination drive to confirm the al Qaeda leader’s presence inside the compound.

“The commissioner has set aside the decision of the assistant political agent of Khyber agency and ordered retrial of Dr Shakil,” the order read, according to defence counsel. “The case has been sent back to the political agent of Khyber.”

The order said, “The assistant political agent played the role of a magistrate for which he was not authorised.”

Dr Shakil’s release on bail has been blocked until his retrial is completed, according to the bail.

The ‘CIA helper’ was sentenced on May 23, 2012, to 33 years imprisonment and fined Rs 320,000 on charges of colluding with the banned militant outfit Lashkar-i-Islam (LI) and its chief Mangal Bagh.
