Will decide when the US makes such an offer, we shouldn't offer it. Otherwise you're just setting yourself up to give power to Americans.

well in this case we can release the traitor for the sake of Dr. Afia, she is daughter of Pakistan.
Disagree entirely, what was she doing there in the first place?
As for Afridi, releasing a traitor is an encouragement to further traitors

. .
There? Where?

Oh bhai, she was arrested on her way to Jinnah Terminal in Karachi.

Siddiqui's maternal uncle, Shams ul-Hassan Faruqi, said that on January 22, 2008, she visited him in Islamabad.[21][25] He said that she told him she had been held by Pakistani agencies, and asked for his help in order to cross into Afghanistan, where she thought she would be safe in the hands of the Taliban.[21][25] He had worked in Afghanistan, and made contact with the Taliban in 1999, but told her he was no longer in touch with them. He notified his sister, Siddiqui's mother, who came the next day to see her daughter. He said that Siddiqui stayed with them for two days.[76] Her uncle has signed an affidavit swearing to these facts

Yes, she disappeared in 2003 in Karachi but was in Islamabad in 2008 and then went to Afghanistan? Why go there?

.
WTF are we guys discussing!!! If we go down this road think every tom dick harry in Pakistan will take this as a license to betray and benefit from it

keeping an innocent woman scientist in US prison is a permanent stain on the anglo-americans' reputation; releasing the latter will be one on pakistan's.

not a good deal

She was never charged for terrorism - if a case had been conducted on this, Shamsul Hassan's comments would have been better scrutinized.

In the court she was not allowed to talk about these incidents by the court and they restricted the entire matter to "Whether she fired upon US officials or not"

On that count too, the forensics experts said they didn't find any bullets in the area where they say she fired, no gunpowder residue on her clothes, and the gun they claim she used had never been fired. It was a surprise as to how the US court came with a guilty verdict on this.

.
Why not instead get 1000 people for Dr Afridi trade ?

.
Let Americans offer something in this regard we should not go about making offers.

. .
In my view Dr Afia Siddiqui is a terrorist and guilty as hell. She should therfore suffer the consequences of her actions.

At the same time Dr Afridi has indirectly helped in an action which brought shame to Pakistani State. He deserves to be punished for what he did.

I am against the exchange.

When Pakistan asked the U.S. for help in 1995 in combating religious extremism, Siddiqui circulated the announcement with a scornful note deriding Pakistan for "officially" joining "the typical gang of our contemporary Muslim governments", closing her email with a quote from the Quran warning Muslims not to take Jews and Christians as friends. She wrote three guides for teaching Islam, expressing the hope in one: "that our humble effort continues ... and more and more people come to the [religion] of Allah until America becomes a Muslim land." She also took a 12-hour pistol training course at the Braintree Rifle and Pistol Club in Braintree, Massachusetts.

THE BOSTON GLOBE....

.
Dr afridi should be killed in public
there are thousands of people in Baluchistan and Karachi who were killed just because our agencies suspected them for treason so why does dr afridi gets a jail sentence when people usually get murdered for treason
