Many African students who studied in Ukraine said they’re facing racial discrimination during their terrifying journeys fleeing Russia’s attacks, often struggling to find a way out of the country.
BuzzFeed News heard from two Nigerian students who said they were subjected to racial slurs on a train and were violently thrown off it by Ukrainian police officers who pulled a gun on them. A student from Sierra Leone said that she and her companions were not allowed to board a train headed to the border despite having tickets. And a student from Liberia said she was forced to spend two days in the cold without food and shelter at the Ukrainian border after guards refused to let her and other people of color board buses taking refugees across to Poland.

Every country has their preferences for a very long time. Not surprising at all. Everyone feels safer and more comfortable with people who look like them.
Germany has given refuge to 1 m refugees just a few years back. So let not over react.
What is not acceptable is treating the not favored like sub humans.
Like USA did with the Mexican immigrants, separating the small children from parents and keeping them in cages.

The one thing that I appreciate about East Europeans is that they don't have filters. They are open and clear about what they want and don't use fluff words. It's a matter of who they want to take in their countries as it is their nation. There is no obligation.

However, treating guest students like crap on this basis was downright ridiculous.

Agree to a point. Should never generalize but my experiences in particular Ukrainians - there is a sense of superiority with them. Have employed several in a professional capacity - dont know if its their upbringing or DNA - but there is a sense of entitlement. A sense of "you may be employing me - but im doing you a favour".
Appalling behavior to students of a brown or black skin that have actually paid for the education.

All i can say is my darker brothers is that you guard your border for they, the west&some eastern blocks, in the near future, will destroy their own homeland by the will of god as their punishment. Soon after their destruction, will eye up your lands for the taking. Submissive or brown people that bend over ( and you should know plenty) are possibly semi acceptable. Those not submissive or those with backbone that won’t jump at the handing out of an incentivised bone are simply 2nd class to the west.

Ukrainians are EASTERN Europeans - so actually are 2nd class European citizen but MUST be protected or seen to be protected as they provide the land mass wall to separate the boogeyman from the REAL Europeans.

The unintended consequences of this conflict will leave a massive scar on in particular the United Kingdom - they voted brexit coz they didn’t want foreigners taking all their incredible waiters jobs and women - they wanted control - they wanted selective rich white immigration. Instead they now have to open their doors to at least 100,000 Eastern Europeans - some uneducated - no language - an unskilled burden to their society.
Now you racist mugs - you end up with what you deserve. The unintended consequence of poking the Russian bear.

If you go back in history a lot of West European countries were uncivilized too. In USA you could not tell the difference between WASP or citizen of East European origin other than looking at the last names. they are generally all assimilated.

Considering West European societies have not been to assimilate Muslim immigrants what is the point of admitting more ?

When the Ukrainians start flooding to the Middle East and Asia simply turn them away. I'm sure the Ukranians will completely understand the double standard being thrown back at them.

The problem is the Ukrainians refugees likely won't flood to the Middle East and Asia. If any do just put them in camps.

So self-proclaimed champions of "human rights" are essentially the same as the other "evil" countries whom they invade and destroy because they are not "civilized" enough.

The mask was off a long ago, this is just another confirmation.
