Don't take it as a religious comment but it is unsustainable to keep cows after they have lived a useful life. Cattle grow rapidly and soon India will have "too many cows" problem. Also what would you do with dead cows? Since there is a ban on selling their meat, how on earth are you going to manage tons after tons of meat. Would you burn them as well? And here comes another crisis of wood shortage. Would you bury them? Would Hindus bury their "divine animal" when they do not bury their own dead bodies?
Hindus have been respecting cows since ages.. and they were OK with cow meat being sold. Why under MODI every body has re-invented definition of respect towards cows? It is only a political gimmick and poor (innocent) Indians are a victim of these political spins.
But you cannot stay a victim for long either. Cows are growing in number while we talk.
