Ignoring rants form across the border was better than responding and giving them attention.

But then the truth is, old habits die hard! Your Foreign Office has nothing else to do but rant against India at the slightest opportunity!

I agree. But it's a question of degree. Kayani didn't rant as much as your present chief who speaks on behalf of your lame duck government. Even Aziz takes his cue from him and wants to prove his loyalty to him and the army by issuing provocative statements that would fetch him brownie points!

But talking peace and trying to solve the Kashmir imbroglio is not part of the PA's strategy, because if there is peace with India, your PA would be out of business! They need to remain relevant in Pak society and therefore will keep the cauldron on the boil till the end of time.

So all this talk of a 'resolution' of the K problem is just a smokescreen.

That is two sided. Indian army chiefs and govts rant much more. Look at statements of Parikar, Doval and Modi. Our PA does not need any excuse to exist. It is our army and it will exist regardless of the status of Kashmir problem. By your logic, EU should disband it's armies because world wars are a thing of past for them and their issues are resolved. Armies do not need conflicts to survive. PA has no issue with the govt of Nawaz in general, it has issue only with defence related issues.

Pakistani soldiers are not Myanmar soldiers
