India have Indian ocean to safe Guard its interests , So IN will have the biggest pie in the defense budget in the coming years.

Not at all likely. The three services get money on the basis of their relative sizes. The IA is by far the largest and will thus continue to get the largest share of the defence pie. Each budget in turn has two components; the Revenue account and the Capital account. It is the Capital account that takes care of new acquisitions etc. In case of the IAF and IN the Capital account components have increased in recent years vis-a-vis the IA. That will continue for some more time, going by present indications.

Hard to swallow but easy to accept. India lost this race due to our government. We could have made strides but we didn;t. Now we have to depend on soft power and kiss foreign ***. It should be noted the PLA and PLAN have always been superior to India;s military. Our recent modernization was a half *** attempt to improve the credibility of our ill equipped armed forces which have been the victims of massive graft. Sadly our ppl don;t realize it. We blame the illerate poor but make no attempts to educate them. And why would they trust the richer classes who abuse and take advantage of them?

I understand your frustration and we all are...But soon we are catching up. These kind of statements from the cheifs keep coming from time and again just to avoid unnecessary confrontations while working in the backgroud to build a strong force.

In the future India is planning to raise marines in Andaman and Nicobar islands, The security of our Islands is very important.
Plus there are carrier accusations and marine air wing which also needs fighter jets and helicopters.

Agni-5 is meant only to counter the threat from Somalia; ditto for INS Arihant, Brahmos.. vitally needed to end the challenge posed by Somali pirates.

I hope chinese (e.g. ChinaToday) will no longer be obsessed with India.

In fact, India and China face a common challenge: Somalia. We should co-operate.

It is Somalia, not India, where a worthy threat to china comes from.

what our Ex.Naval Chief said(in 2009 :omghaha: trolling ki v haad hota hai) is true.India is a democratic country, and it is hard to allocate huge amount of budget for our armed forces until their is really some serious security threat.neither India wants to match toe to toe on Chinese firepower, size of army, number of ships and aircraft and in other fields and neither is any need.tell me,what will we do with that kind of strength??neither India wants to project its military power on neighbours, nor any other countries as it is not our policy, neither we have some imminent threat.but what we need is a strong force as a strong deterrent.Size of Indian security forces is already large enough.what we need is increasing its quality like future inductions to replace our older platforms and introducing F-INSAS.well,good news,F-INSAS will be readied within 3 years..
