Donald Trump’s China Nightmare Is Coming True For The U.S. Dollar

The US will be following up soon with its own digital dollar using blockchain technology. I don't see how China's digital currency spells the end of the dollar as reserve currency. It may dent it somewhat but there are really no competitors in the wings.

The U.S Dollar as a reserve currency in the world, is based on the Petrodollar supremacy. With Oil slumping into negative territory, American Shale industry collapsing and the pandemic tightening it's grip on the American economy, with more than 26 million Americans unemployed. The end of the U.S dollar as the reserve currency in the world is here now, does not matter whether it's digitized, or whether China is leading the world in Digital Currency, or whether the monkey is dancing around like a crazy ape. The U.S dollar is about to crumble and with it the American economy will collapse, it's not a matter of if, rather when it would happen. It will happen soon enough, doesn't matter whether you digitize, reopen markets, print $10 trillion more to flood the dead economy. The U.S is at the end of it's line as being an economic superpower, $26 trillion dollar national debt, plus $48 trillion dollar private sector debt, spells the end of America as an economic super power.

Theoretically, The digital yuan does not need to replace the dollar to undermine its strategic value, by simply providing an alternative, the US can no longer leverage the dollar's reserve currency status to impose unilateral sanctions.

The question is... can the digital yuan act as a full fledged alternative to the dollar ? Or are there limitations preventing worldwide adoption ?
I don't think we want to, even a simple 20% is a big win.

The question isnt if China wants to, but wether or not the digital yuan can function as a full replacement, the mere capacity to act as one would give it tremendous power.

China's internal market alone is enough to warrant the project.

I agree but I don't think it will be immediate, China will continue maintaining trade in USD$ but will offer alternatives to weaker countries rich in resources.

Depends on how long the global economy is paralyzed (re oil price).
