Donald Trump has announced new sanctions against Iran after Tehran threatened to enrich its stockpile of uranium.

The US president has issued an executive order imposing new restrictions on Iranian steel, aluminum, copper and iron.

Those sectors provide Iran's troubled economy with foreign currency earnings.

Amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran, the White House said it had dispatched the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and B-52 bombers to the Persian Gulf.



Iran threatened to enrich its stockpile of uranium closer to weapons-grade levels in 60 days if world powers failed to negotiate new terms on the 2015 nuclear deal.

President Rouhani's words come exactly a year after Donald Trump withdrew America from the Obama-era agreement and reimposed sanctions, although other nations stayed in.

US is going the maximum pressure approach. The Hawks must be very happy, but if Iran does not cave then it makes their stratergy look ineffective.

Also Russia and China are hoping Iran does not cave.

If Iran caves and returns to negotiating table then the Iran Maximum Pressure Template will be used one day on Russia or China or any power that dares defy the US.

Thus Iran needs to withstand this and show the Hawks that their long sought out maximum pressure strategy is a failure.

You, in desperation, are asking everyone who doesn't subscribe to your thought process to talk about another extreme. No... we won't say what you want us to say.

When TTP used to send terrorists from sanctuaries inside of Afghanistan, did Pakistan ever involve itself in bombing Afghanistan or always talked to the Afghan government to put ttp on a leash?

Pakistan should do what it has always done, i.e kill the terrorists and target killers on its own soil together with their facilitators and stop considering Iran as some kind of brotherly nation. That's all required as of now, and for the foreseeable future, until we stop finding target killers with the links to irgc, and irgc also stops recruiting Pakistanis for it's war in other countries.
