Traditions change with passage of time, and just because something was being done in the past does not make it right by definition. If someone wishes to eat dogs than be it, its their choice and as long as its not my dog. We can not harp about traditions must be upheld, at times they must adapt to time. The cattle are also loyal animals, since during the pre-industrialization era, people absolutely depent them to proceed the agriculture, but why still ungratefully eating them?

Come on if you wish to eat dog meat no one is stopping you, but don't be ridiculous about it. Cattle are as loyal as dogs, then why they heck humans been using dogs as helpers to herd cattle.

And my reply makes a good point, and I await your comments on it. A dog meat festival, as I have proposed, catering specifically to the Chinese, would make eminent political, financial and social sense for obvious reasons. It is a win-win situation and should be considered seriously.

I try to not eat mammals; I don't eat pork or beef either. Right now I only eat chicken, fish and tofu as protein, and even then I'm still uncomfortable with the fact that I do eat chickens, but I love eating meat. I also don't criticize others for being barbarians when they eat dog, pork and beef. It isn't my place to tell others what to eat and what not to eat; I can only control myself.

I'm not a hypocrite that deems one type of animal (or one type of mammal) worthy to save and the other mammals not. Pigs are just as intelligent as dogs through IQ tests. If you think eating dog is wrong, then eating pork is also wrong. If you don't think so, then you're a hypocrite.

Funny, I just read a sentence: "Chinese consider everything eatable, except the table and chopsticks". Don't mean any offense but I think that's a good practice, especially when China has to feed such a huge population.

I am a cat person myself, but I am also against eating dog. Both the one who sells and the one who buys dog meat are cruel. People stop eating dolphin when they study that dolphin have the intelligence and emotion equal to human child of age 6-8. I believe they should show the public more study about dog to help raise the public awareness and stop the practice of eating dog.

Japanese didn't. They still eat dolphin and whales, which have IQs much closer to humans than dogs. What now?
