The coastline of Pakistan is equal to that of the Indian state of Gujarat therefore your view that Pak does not need a carrier holds good.

India has a peninsular reach into the Indian ocean astride major sea lanes. The A&N Islands dominate the Malacca straits , we have a necessity to project Sea power.

Age of battle groups are its end. Now small strike vessels with Vtol. India can not afford to bring any of its battle group in real time scenario.

So why are Royal navy , Russian Navy , Chinese Navy , even US Navy is looking for more and larger Ships ?

If Nuclear Weapons , Nuclear Subs , MRBMs , Stealth Jets ( all are strategic assets ) are NEEDED by PN ( i dont know why , since India started all its programs to counter CHINA , NOT PAKISTAN ) why not ACs ?
