i have not watched any fawad khan movies... I usually follow a few directors.... Rajat kapoor, anurag kashyap... in actors farhan akhtar, abhay deol ...
anyway taste in movies is personal... others will probably find movies I like utterly boring and stupid.... (just like I find some hit movies vulgar and crass)

Bollywood is now almost like Punjabi films. Songs are all Punjabi. Let's hope the old Hindustani/Urdu speaking Bollywood will return back.

Urdu is slowly dying in Bollywood.

Like it or not, its been moving towards Hindi for decades quite slowly and steadily. Its just a reflection of society. Urdu is dying as language in India so is it in Bollywood.

I think malayalam movies have the best story script of late.. Bollywood is crap when you compare it with south Indian movies. but then it has most following with in and outside India. TBH it hijacked the perception of Indian cinemas.

Everytime I go through youtube comments on some Hindi songs, I cannot help noticing a considerable amount of comments from foreigners(actually more pakistanis are commenting than indians ever since the ban is lifted).
We can see comments from Mexico,Arabs, Algerians,kazaks and Tajiks. I strongly believe bollywood is going to play a major role in influencing the world with indian culture in future.

With increasing development of india in various sectors,the influence of india spills out to various parts of the world. However much we hate bollywood for making some sub standard movies ,what we must not ignore is it is creating a great impact in many countries and I am sure it will only increase.

We have dance and songs in our movies which can attract people of every race..china doesn't have a such strong source of entertainment that can take its culture to foreign countries..Hollywood doesn't have dance and songs.
Do you agree with me guys that we are fortunate to have bollywood which can act as a powerful tool to influence the world?

Actually, I am quite surprised that he could sing that song in public..imagine somebody singing 'mera dil hai pakistan's in india..the thing is pakistan places religion above their nationalism whether indians are opposite.

must admit Indian movie and soap opera is really popular in Indonesia, tough the market sharing is continue to decline in face of Halyu Wave (K Pop) drama movie and opera, and the Japs dorama (they really made good stories here and there)

tamil and telugu movies have too much unreal violence, it might look better in cinematography and original plot but they handle the movies poorly.
just compare ghajini hindi and tamil versions... nobody accused bollywood of realism but the influence of tamil/telugu movies have dumbed down bollywood to really low(stupid ajay devgan movies)

The violence portions were a part of south films, long ago. Unnecessary blood splash, bone breaking are no more part of the movies. But Bollywood is becoming increasingly sleazy.

1) I see bollywood releasing nearly p**n movies recently to just mint money. Thank god south films didn't reach that state of shame yet. Violence can be censored but movie having stories with a vulgar theme in bollywood ? Bollywood corrupts entire indian film industry. Eg: Some south films hired Sunny Leone for a cameo/item song but that didn't do wonders for them.

2) Bollywood started the trend of item song.

3) Bollywood started the trend of objectifying women.

Inspite of all these ploys by Bollywood you still pin-point south films for violence portions which they don't use frequently ?

Stupid Ajay Devgn films are a stark example of there are no more talents in Bollywood with good movie making skills except a handful like Anurag kashyap, gowariker and few more.

Yah K-pop and rest I know is really big. Competition is good. I hope Indo-pop and culture becomes more popular across Asia too...I really enjoy that stuff!

Stop always comparing and competing. Bollywood acknowledges the goodness of South Indian movies when it borrows scripts and plots from South Indian movies. Why should South Indians always be with a chip on their shoulder. Truth of the matter is many more Indians understand Hindi more than any one of the South Indian languages, so obviously the market for Hindi movies is bigger. This is no snub to South Indian movies.

Also South Indian movies are being viewed by foreigners too. No Hindi wallah is going around pleading outsiders not to watch South Indian movies.

the vulgar themed movies are clearly known and marked as such... but i have seen south indian family entertainer with vulgar 2 meaning dialogues for comedic purpose(something bollywood stopped since govinda/kader khan)....
How do you explain popularity of Rajanikanth, Vijyakanth in south, most of their recent movies are overhyped crap. There is nothing wrong in hiring sunny leone, there is a difference between vulgarity and showing skin. Very few accuse hollywood of vulgarity, even though many movies show ample skin.
Item songs are a bad trend, I agree but that cant possibly compare with the crap south indian movies produce. When people say south indian movies are better than bollywood, they talk about a few good movies that they watched. Either that or blown away by hype of money or craze(apparently more money means better movie)..

I still give full kudos to south directors for choosing original/different story line.. but they screw it with south indian style film making.
