They like dealing with dictators because it gives them significant leverage. They know they can pull the rug on a non democratic regime whenever they feel like punishing.

Now the evolution is funding and influencing opposition politicians. This can be avoided by PTI creating another non compromised party that can compete with them.

Right now PPP and PMLN are security threats, they need be removed from politics. I hope this is on the agenda for ISI and deep state.

IK needs to groom future leaders and prep them for the role to start their own party. They receive funding, full marketing budget and tv spots for commercials. The best of the bunch can compete with PTI for the election win just like republican and democrat, Labour and Conservatives, or what use to to be the case in Pakistan, PMLN and PPP. Both parties were compromised, MR 10% as your president.


So this new party is led by a great public speaker and he's sharp, people love him. This party can evolve with IK's tutelage into a competent and honest party and the days of carrot and the stick are over. Democratic patriotism level achieved. Relationships with other nations will recalibrate. This is the way.

In Pakistan there has never been a Dictatorship, just martial law. Know the difference.
Plus a ruler doesn't need to be military general to be a Dictator.
There have been many non military rulers who have been Dictators.

This question is an insult to the dignity of the nation of Pakistan. It shows subservient and beggar mentality. We had plenty of non democratic regimes in the past, and thanks in large part to them, and the parasites they cultivated that we are in this mess today. There is only one way forward for us, and that is the Democratic system of government tweaked to suit our ground realities. No one should have the right to dictate to us who rules over us, or how we govern ourselves.

I dont think there is any such grave issue. Opposition just hyping it. I would rather want the opposition to focus on economic failure of imran khan and policies. But then again, the ones in opposition are bigger crooks.
USA have problem with Pakistan army and establishment, why would it want military dictatorship and strengthen the army even more? If anything, the US would always prefer democracy, where they can always have influence, as most of ruling elite class have personal and financial stakes in USA. They all want green cards for their kids, so they will always obey uncle sam.
