It may be! But KSA is towards NATO equipment not Pakistan.

During NS's visit to KSA recently, he had convinced the KSA to buy some JFT's and use them for regular CAPs, pilot hours etc and use it as a Tier II platform. And that if KSA uses their connections, the JFT can get European weapons and avionics like the EFT's, so the KSA pilots will get the same stuff they are already used to (avionics, radars, weapons), only for 30-40% of the cost of an EFT. KSA agreed.

RS was then sent to discuss details, along with a couple of PAF's JFT related officers. Pakistan and KSA are working on a strategic package where Pak Army deployed (2 divisions in the future), will have their own air arm also, based on the JFT. That was, the KSA will buy these planes for their and PAF's pilots supporting the PA in KSA, and will help in getting equipment from the French and the Britts. So the block III can be modernized per KSA needs and the PAF will also use the Western tech in JFT also.

KSA can fund development of a jf-17 equpe with what-200 engine which will give more commonalities with typhoon.

So it means that Pakistan will have military base in KSA? WOW!

I don't know if they'll call it a separate base.....like the US had. But the PA and the PAF will be there under the KSA's command.

why would saudi need pakistani troops and PAF when the saudis could easily ask the USA or british to help them just like desert storm.

My understanding the entire desert storm campaign was funded by saudi arab money.

no offense but one USA combat divsion and one carrier battle group is far superior to the entire pak military and much more mobile and experienced.

Maybe you are right but the track record are different aren't they ?????
USA even after 10+ years of fighting in afghanistan were not able to stabilize the country ..on the other hand, Pak fought in Fata and stabilize most part of it ..i am not bringing in other factors

Also current changing scenarios in middle east also makes KSA turns to Pak ... as USA playing double games....

No just as a support. I got everything from what he described it. And this is a good move. I'm sure Navy will also be present soon in the Red Sea too.

Thats comparing Apples and Oranges. Tribal area are part of Pakistan ans we had local population supporting their troops while American were foriegners trying tp pacify Afghanistan.

I am talking about the normal population of the tribal areas. It is unfortunate that the successive Pakistani goverment have failed to develop these areas by building infrastructure especially schools and hospitals. Why do the "people in Fata were getting everything from Afghanistan" that is the huge failure of our government.

Yes , its a failure of our gov and now to make things worse we will be getting USAID for Fata ..
