They carbon-dated it, so even if it wasn't Zheng He, it was still before Columbus, and that's what's important.

That map was NOT carbon dated to 1300s. It is a copy made in 1763 which certain people claim is a copy of a map dated to 1418. Of course there is no proof till now regarding this.

Now regarding this Gavin Menzies and his crackpot stories, many sinologists and historians dismiss his work as "Fiction". Here are some links to website where you can read critical reviews of his works by experts.

There is a whole website created by experts in the field to disprove his book and theories - The myth of Menzies' "1421 " exposed

That should put to rest this topic perhaps.

ZELUVVAA maybe you can tell me why them american indians look orienal or do they look like vikings ?

During Wisconsin Glaciation, a period from say 50000 to 17000 yrs ago, the sea levels were quite low. Combine this with low snow fall in Alaska and northern Canada and you have a perfect travel path. The indigenous americans or Paleo-Indians crossed during this period across the Bering strait through the land bridge which is called "Beringia". This land bridge does not exist any more of course due to the rise in sea levels.

The Paleo-Indians used this land bridge to cross into North America from Siberia and North Asia. That is why they look like North Asians or Mongoloids. That is why they also share linguistic as well as genetic components.

Here are some good reads in this regards.

2) Paleo-Indians - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
3) Beringia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

But how is that relevant to the topic at hand? Just because some people crossed Siberia into Alaska 15-20 thousand years back does not mean they "Discovered" America. If we were to use that analogy, then that would mean that the whole world was "discovered" by East Africans as that is where Homo Sapiens are supposed to have first migrated from.
