What's new

Do you consider Pakistan to be a Middle-Eastern nation?

. .
Pakistan is unique in the sense that we are located on the borders of three regions, Middle-East, South Asia and Central Asia. The East of Indus river is part of South Asia, KPK and North Balochistan is part of Central Asia, while South Balochistan is part of Middle East.
Middle east is a term created for political purposes. It's not geographic term in real sense.. south baluchistan is west asia.
Quaid-e-azam should have made Farsi (Dari, not Irani) as the national language instead of Urdu.
Urdu is a lingua franca. How can you borrow a national language of two other countries and make it your lingua franca.. as far farsi being used here there were other languages in use here before farsi. We need our own identity. Not get lumped into iranian or indian poles of influence.
There is no doubt, Pakistanis are "Mix of Middle Eastern".
When some say that Afghans and Persian heritage, that basically means the same.

Take Urdu language, you can pick its words and they would all have Middle Eastern origins.
Hindi was only used for grammatical purposes, rest the root words are all either Arabic, Persian or Turkic.

Similarly, pick Pakistani cuisine, you can trace their origins to Middle East. Once again, Arabic, Persian and Turkic origins.

Take complexion, that too has more to do with the Middle East than India.

So , why Pakistanis are not Middle Eastern!!
Ok we are middle eastern..
Dude it's a geopolitical term. The term only became associated to arab culture in west.
In 1902 the term “Middle East” was coined in order to designate the area residing between Egypt and Singapore,

Not disagreeing with you but people think Urdu is like the language of Pakistan
Urdu was born in lahore ghaznavid era.

Please next time read the context!
Believe it or not native speakers of urdu wer always here however small in quantity they were and it was different back then.. as it was much much persianized in the beginning. .and a lot more sanskrit words got added after qutb u din aibak moved his capital from Lahore to delhi.

Exactly..hate this term desi as identity.. its invented by these South asian folks in europe and north america .what will they do if it becomes a slur tomorrow. At home desi khorak is only thing we know. Muslim and pakistani and nothing more.

If it is a geopolitical term than why consider someone a "Middle Eastern" , with your own stated boundaries Pakistanis are middle eastern.

But there is no doubt, culture, language, food, and appearances all Middle Eastern.
So Pakistani basically and fundamentally are Middle Eastern.

Geopolitical identity means u have it today and may not tomorrow .
Our culture is mughalai culture dress food language etc.. mughals originated from central asia. Central asia is not middle east... even ethnically we are by and large indo aryans not semetic. Sure our religion originated in arab land and language is a subset of persian but it doesnt mean we inherit our identity from there.

What is Indo Aryan!!
The real Aryans are in Afghanistan, Iran and other areas, not in India.
I am Aryan, not Indian. I hope you understand that much.

.
Pakistan is a Central Asian nation and has deep HISTORICAL links and ties to prove this. Pakistan was part of the "Eastern Roman Empire" which also consisted of Central Asian countries like Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, etc.

That is why Pakistan has diverse demographics, and majority of people of Pakistan don't look ANYTHING like the World famous indian Bullshi.ters next door.

Where do aryans come from? Iran Afghanistan?? No
Their origin is a remote Russia steppe region they gradually migrated south mixed with locals and made new people.
Now I'm sure you are not sh!t white or pinkish like a russian. Definitely a tinge of tan but where did u get that tone from? Why not get your dna done to learn. There is a reason we have terms indo aryan and indo iranic. Those Iranians afghans calling themselves pure aryan are idiots and just superimposing they are more pure aryan than you wrt to features otherwise they are all mix many also have semetic or afro dna markers. To differentiate from indo aryan we have the term indo iranic. However we all know iranic is synonymous to aryan and same thing...but in essence it signifies more on linguistic lines and sperates people geographically. so even if u call urself aryan ur actually an INDO-iranic.

INDO is a Greek term used for region of sindh and indus river. It doesnt mean indian as pertaining to country 'India' so chillax

Historically No. We are in South Asia and sit next to the middle east and central Asia.

Mind you these are political definitions, not purely geographic.
