Do yagya, it will help attract clouds: BJP MP’s solution to drought
Participating in the debate on drought, Singh recalled the mythological story of Raja Janak ploughing the fields and organising yagya to please the rain Gods.

Asking all MPs to organise yagya in their constituencies for rains, he said, “It will result in rains.”
Organise yagyas for rains. This was the suggestion offered on Wednesday by BJPmember Virendra Singh to fellow Parliamentarians in the Lok Sabha as a means to mitigate the drought situation.

Participating in the debate on drought, water crisis and issues connected with inter-linking of rivers, Singh recalled the mythological story of Raja Janak ploughing the fields and organising yagya to please the rain Gods.

“Raja Janak’s rajdharma resulted in rains..Similarly, Modiji is trying to revive over seven lakh ponds to mitigate the problem of drought in the country,” Singh said.

“There are spiritual as well as scientific reasons for yagya. It helps in attracting clouds,” he argued.

Asking all MPs to organise yagya in their constituencies for rains, he said, “It will result in rains.”

According to him, droughts occur because people destroy nature in the name of development.

He also wanted the government and the state administration to appeal to the rich people to spend money for digging wells and ponds which could provide water in times of drought.

During his speech, he targeted the Uttar Pradesh government, saying its “indifferent attitude” was leading to worsening of drought situation in the state.

People are very angry and will give a befitting reply to the Chief Minister, the BJP MP said.

He asked the Centre government to take steps towards inter-linking of rivers saying it would be in the interest of the nation.

Oh god.. You really worked hard:hitwall::hitwall:

As the pair of MISR images above illustrates, the researchers found that the presence of smoke coincided with sharp decreases in the amount of cloud cover.

“Fire-emitted particles crippled the atmosphere’s ability to build clouds and thunderstorms, and that ultimately caused a decrease in rainfall during what's already a seasonal drought,”

"Researchers have found that heavy smoke over the Amazon River Basin interferes with the formation of clouds. This can reduce or delay rainfall, two teams report in the 27 February issue of Science, and it can make the storms that do occur more violent."

From the first link you provided.

Tosca attributes the reduction in cloud cover and rainfall to a phenomenon known as the semi-direct aerosol effect. The dark soot particles in smoke absorb incoming sunlight and warm the atmosphere. This warming reduces the upward movement of moisture, which is crucial to the development of cumulus clouds.

Though the semi-direct effect was quite pronounced on the low-level cumulus clouds in Tosca’s study, that does not mean that the same effect occurs with all aerosols types and for all cloud types. Rather, the relationship between clouds and aerosols is quite complicated. While dark aerosols inhibit cloud formation, more reflective aerosols can brighten clouds, making them last longer and, in some cases, increasing rainfall. Even the effect of dark can differ markedly depending on whether a smoke plume is at the same height as a cloud layer or drifting above it.

From the second link ..
All clouds need a certain amount of smoke and dust in order for water droplets to condense.

The same source also states the following

Meinrat Andreae of the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz, Germany, and colleagues report that a surfeit of smoke particles can delay rainfall.

Does this article talks about "CERTAIN SMOKE"?
The first link of mine states the following

"Humans have been setting fires in the savannas and forests of western Africa for thousands of years. For just as long, the smoke from these fires may have reduced rainfall during the dry season, according to new research from scientists at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory."

So bhayyaji the smoke actually makes matter worse in dry season, hence I request you to please stop clutching at straws...

Is BJP MP asking to set forests on fire? Your are the one clutching at straws. Stop it.
