We totaly rely on the political parties to fix our country, but what if thats one of the main problems with our country, that we dont want to do anything ourselves when we can do a lot more and make a difference.
These same people stand in lines and dont litter on the roads outside pakistan i know its the governments responsibility to make stricter rules but we see that they are not taking the initiative of doing anything whereas we can just like alamgir khan and many others. Please reply and let me know what you think about it.

That's true. Many in Pakistan believe that our problems will be solved if somebody good rules us but the question is where is this good person and how will he come?

Leaders come from the people are a reflection of the nation. They rule the nation bcz they themselves are the person the nation can relate with the most. If a nation is corrupt, illiterate, foolish and emotional then the leader will reflect that. If the nation is ethicless then that is exactly how the leader will be.

That is why we must change ourselves. We must become better people and wiser people and with that change we will see better leaders emerge bcz these leaders are not a foreign force. They are from this nation. We point fingers and criticize our leaders but we forget the three that point towards us.

If we want a better future then we must change our ways and our mindset. The nation is completely reliant on a messiac saving thinking. Its one of the main reason why we have had military dictatorships. The people celebrated and laughed and thanked the military when they took over but afterwards they turned against them and thanked the civilian party that took over and the cycle continued.

The way I see it that the nation is regressing as times go by. They are becoming more impatient and unruly as days go by..

We need to change this trend to change our fate.

Instead of Political parties a nation needs institutions.

Institutions that uphold the Constitution ( which would naturally be made by Political Parties through consensus).

Then, its for the subjects of the nations & if I may add the institutions themselves must adhere to law of the land.

Who says we need politicians? We need leaders, more importantly, we need institution doing there job properly and sincerely. All that and still the job is far from done, under these leaders and institution we will need the nation to act as one and play there part in the progress. Surely we cannot do anything without the nation being involved honestly but the fact remains that in order to get the nation involved we need leaders and institutions to channelize the energy of the nation in the right direction. Without that, all we can have in another "Arab Spring" not so Arab this time.

What we need is:

TO DEFINE OURSELVES AS A STATE:
-a new constitution that defines where we are heading
-clear stance on where we stand on Religion-State affairs/interference/dominance

A NEW SYSTEM OF GOVT
-scrap parliamentary democracy in its current state
-technocrats (elected officials to be barred from holding Ministries, etc.)
-highly independent and active judicial branch
-totally depoliticized, well-funded/armed police
-massive re-organization and merging of ministries/govt bodies to minimize overlap and make it clear where responsibility lies)

A TOLERANT, PROGRESSIVE SOCIETY
-massive de-radicalization drives
-public service messages that deal with compassion, justice, respect, kindness (sourced from the Quran or elsewhere)
-only State-approved mosques / madrassas + State-sponsored khutbaaz

TO REVERSE THE BRAIN DRAIN
-the induction of the best minds available (civilian or military) in our intel agencies, as is the norm worldwide
-a much higher quality civil services cadre (revamped standardized tests that focus on critical thinking, intellect and problem solving rather than rote learning/memorization)

RAISING THE COST FOR OUR ENEMIES (internal/external)
-introducing fear of consequences
-Mossad-style small but highly focused and independent external ops set-up that is capable of striking beyond our current area of Afghanistan / India (which the S Wing in the ISI is already quite proficient at, though Fazlullah remains at large)
-internally, quick and swift action by foreign-trained forensic / financial crime experts that results in quick convictions and harsh sentences

There are two main issues --- structural and human. This creates a viscious cycle where structural issues often discourage highly motivated and highly intelligent patriots to serve in the Government. Once we have the best people available working on our biggest problems, things will start to change. Right now, it's a crap shoot. The very people who are supposed to enforce the law are breaking it. As a reference, as evil as he is, Netanyahu served in Israel's most elite commando unit and completed studies at two of the world's most challenging universities (MIT and Harvard) in less-than-normal time while also taking breaks to defend his country. How do we hope to compete?

If we want a good ruler than we have to first change ourselves into a better nation, that ruler will not come from any other place he will be from among us,Allah gives good rulers to good nations.

NO!
I was answering to the question regarding whether we need politicians to fix our problems and in my opinion we do not need politicians TO FIX these problems that were pointed out. NOT that we do not need politicians at all. Where would be the fun without them :P

You need a Mahatir or a Lee Kuan Yew in Pakistan. Not a Nawaz Sharif or Zardari.

The Pak army needs to assist in this regard.
