Boeing wants to sell 300 A-10 s from US inventory, some of them are from 2005 on upgraded A-10 C Versions.

Should we ask for some 2-3 squadrons air refuelable with our KC-135 tankers, instead discussing to turn some of our C-130 in gunships ?

C-130'lar 'Gun Ship' olacak!

Boeing Looks to Sell Retired A-10 Warthogs Abroad | DoD Buzz

Warthog is an airplane with superb firepower and survivability.

The Air Force's Rationale For Retiring The A-10 Warthog Is Bullshit

I don't want to discuss the survivability against heavy AA-Missiles. In that enviornment every plane is in severe risk, if not SEAD's Mission are done before.

I think it would be horrible firepower against DEAS and PKK terorists. The 30 mm cannon is
unsurpassed.

I don't see why not. better to have them doing some use instead of being scrapped or put in a bone yard.

could also sell a few hundred mavericks and other stuff to go with it. $$ making money is the game.

@C130 If you provide initial delivery of 1 Million 30 mm ammo (1000 sorties = 50 sorties for 2 squadrons of 20 planes) and enough spares. I would take immediately- and of course no political restrictions, which are not polite between allies.

that's a lot of burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt.

if a deal like this would happen. i would like my government to purchase a updated OV-10 Bronco. it's the perfect low cost system to replace A-10 for COIN I prefer it over Super Tucano and T-6 Texan.

Nope, not gone happen. We will have Hurkus-C for COIN if the army is in need for one. F-4 2020 Terminators as bomber which are more then capable, which in turn wil be replaced by F-35.

A-10 is already offered to turkey as transfer units for free, but its denied by our airforce because of the infastructure needed to be founded for repair and operation of planes ,which turns into money sucking platform for turkey . It is debatable how much we need such a system on such a terrain. We could go for a smaller system than A-10.

A-10 is one of the greatest system in my opinion. But against PKK even helos are barely usefull ,A-10 wouldnt be so.

If its sold or transferred to a country which needs such platform ,thats is win win. But i feel like it will be pushed to low- developed countries as a gift eventhough they dont need ( as its tried to be pushed to turkey with a hope ). Its what US does , transfer units for free but obligated to repair and operate in control of US by the US companies.

Why not thinking about a full Service program with Boeing ?
In my eyes our main problem is that we self satisfy us with future projects. We will have for sure in future own, C-130 gunships,
The U.S. Air Force's New AC-130 Gunships Are Really Bomb Trucks
COIN aircrafts and enough ATAK helos , but at the moment we lack that Kind firepower.
We have nothing comparable to the fierce firepower of the A-10 we need urgent against hostile elements in the special terrain of our South/Southeast boarders. Many of the A-10s were modernized with new airframes and avionics from 2005 on to A-10 C and are effective used in Afghanistan and Syria. We would need only enough spare parts and immediate adaptation Training for pilots. The 30 mm ammo is non-standart, but MKEK or POF could produce them , they already produce 35 mm ammo. Our Phantoms 2020 are optimized for air to ground missions but lack survivability and manoeuvrability in low fly scenarios even against 20 mm Russian DOCKA AA guns. F-35s will enter Service in the next years and already now US plans to upgrade them with new engines, avionics and energy wepons , regarding new capabilities of the opponents.
Best Fighter for Canada: Planned obsolescence: F-35 upgrades are on the way.
We will have never access to the source codes and they can be immediately switched off. Thats a risk to deploy them on our LHD for overseas missions.

man pkk terrorists are afraid of our supercobra attacks.. A-10 would bring that into a whole different level.. :D

also we do not know the future of IS and how they will be to us..

in my opinion this plane is perfect for us.. in Combination with altay on ground and T129 in the skies it would be a great team..

It would change the regional balance too much, hence not likely.

Thats it ! Not the arguments of some lazy Military or buearocrats. We have to take the A-10 ! When I spoke with Mr.Öz...; he didn't even know that we needed night Vision Googles and attack helicopters. But then he was aware, like Bül.. Bey, who made alliances with others after embargo. ( Both of them died and were discredited too much) Turkish Military is always paralyzed from US and they fear of missuccess. No self confidence . Nobody wants to do Business with turkish Business men , most don't want to travel to Türkiye; cause they are obviously fvked

What I do really care is to know when we will have a pure Air Superiority Fighter

Mate, you realize the TF-X will be an air superiority fighter right? No one builds a twin engined jet for simple bombing.

@BordoEnes. Read my post and you'll understand . Not even your grandchildren will see a Turkish Air Superiority fighter. Leadership matters.
