i am not even kidding
look up the videos of the troops that were shooting back during the torkham border clashes
who needs sights for small arms when you can just blindfire

Typical loadout have 6-7 mags how do you gonna conserve ammo and take out targets efficiently when your plan is to blind fire like Rambo...

.
pray and spray like how they did when they got shot at by afghans in the torkham incident
I think you have little to no knowledge of real time combat, you shouldn't be making arguments about something you don't know.
The army or any fighting force thats even a little disciplined would know that there is no use for full auto fire in real time combat, as you discribed"spray and pray".
And there are multiple reasons for that 1, eats up ammo 2, inaccurate and 3, doesn't really achieve anything. However it isn't all that useless it is beneficial in suppressive fire and that's the only thing it's used for by the army.

Typical is one thing....
technically, and as per official standard, 60 rounds or 3 mags you are supposed to carry with your G3, one attached, 2 in pouches.

.
All standard G3s have a 4 x 24 scope, which is highly accurate upto 800 m.
New G3s having picatinny rails which allow you to mount RDSs.

Type 56 is accurate enough at 800 meters as well ( which is the max allowed by its iron sights)

Sir G that's what I am saying, All standard G-3 have long range scopes but not ours. They do have picattinny but useless I think if it is not being used..

Problem is Impact ID.. Practical accuracy of Type-56 is 500y. You can't just hit your mark with AK iron sights past 300y unless you have a spotter to tell you the bullet impact.

Here is a video in which pratical accuracy of Chinese AK is demonstrated. See he use a spotter to ID bullet hits..

.
....but then, in combat, people do carry even 6, maybe even 10 mags so that the ammo doesnt finishes.....but then this additional ammo one carries at the cost of several other essentials which are as important.

Bhai, i was talking about PA G3s....even the old, wooden handguard G3s have 4 x 24 scope with them. Many PA G3s were given picatinny rails and retractable butts.

unless you have a spotter to tell you the bullet impact.

You are right....either a spotter by your side or someone falling far off....these are the two.....

thats the 4 x 24 scope......notice the folded bipod as well, which was issued to PA for G3s about 6 years ago.

Also talking about same thing..

My university security have two G-3A3s with Mil-STD picatinny rails..

Is that POF, doesn't look like to me.

So, Sir what is the reason we don't see them in these modern days and times

no this isnt POF, however we are using the same scope and bipod.

yaar, its a long and painful story that why dont you see them in modern times. It all depends upon the man on ground. I mean i personally ensure that all accessories of every weapon at my disposal are used to the fullest, however, some people, due to multiple reasons, dont use them, mainly because they themselves arent familiar with these.

. . .
Suppressing fire to give mortar team some time.

Again not a good thing to do until you want to suppress/cover fire

AK bursts up in the mountains = suppressing fire?

Suppressing fire would be dshk or lmg but that's not the case here

my point remains - why do the soldiers need sights when they think they can get the job done by just blindfiring
