Rosetta consists of two machines. The Rosetta spacecraft itself orbits the comet at a distance between 10 and 4km. Its lander Philae did land on the comet, did its research and then went into stand by. Rosetta will operate in the comets orbit within next year.

That is color. The comet is extremly dark and so is the sky out there- It would appear like this for our eyes.

Definitely will have to agree with you sir! It was a long film (at 3 hours!) but the entire plot and buildup to the physics related concepts commanded my attention.
