Do Hindus in your locality rent houses to muslims?

I once asked a muslim to rent his place to us (me and my mates), this happened in India. We knew bachelors especially college going ones (or of similar age) find it hard to get accommodation, but instead of replying 'no we dont give to bachelors' he said, 'I got grownup girls'. To which I replied like a stupid 'we are not that type'.
He said everybody says that, and declined. I was a bit annoyed then.

You may not be that type. But Indian men are internationally notorious for being that type, it's a hard earned reputation.

Most Hindus rent it, though the problem is that Christians like me and Muslims eat meat, which is not likeable so Hindus usually don't like meat being cooked in their kitchen.

Maybe in states like Gujarat..in south apart from brahmins and vaishyas no one has any problem with meat eating,.actually even they are eating meat stealthily.
