Europeans have invested heavily in Myanmar. I would suggest you to look up the figures. They scream and shout genocide against Rohingya, but this is what they do behind the curtains.

You know the recent dismantling of deep dark web of child abuse and pornography has revealed that most of the clients were from USA, UK, Germany and South Korea. A lot of people of UK own shares in various pornographic agencies and this kind of stuff finds link to the criminal and lawless lands like Myanmar.

We had a Rohingya conference at our university yesterday. I attended the whole day and learnt a lot of new facts. Representatives from the Bangladeshi government, UN, Gambia, Canada, Amnesty and IOC were present among others. This Myanmar thing stinks so so badly and the Western world is turning a blatant blind eye to a genocide. The Western world wants to influence Myanmar a neighbor of China.

- Norway, the anti-war pacifist nation, has invested heavily in Myanmar among many European nations. Last year Western investment in Myanmar went up by 46% as compared to previous years.
- The US and Western world in general refuse to use the word genocide for the victims of Myanmar. They silence anyone who does in the media and elsewhere.
- I heard firsthand from Rohingya victims how brutally they have been abused. It is so brutal that I am not going to mention it here.
- The UN and Western nations are pushing Bangladesh to absorb and integrate Rohingya refugees into their society. In other words BD must provide citizenship and access to schools, healthcare etc. to Rohingya refugees. Refusal to comply means criticism towards BD and possibly worse in the future.
- Myanmar is getting a free pass and the West is unwilling to hold it accountable. The remaining Rohingya community in Myanmar is getting oppressed, killed, raped and robbed from their land as we speak. Nothing is left for them. Their villages burnt down, their land stolen, their women mass raped, their children thrown into fires and I could go on.
- The Burmese Muslims and other minorities are too afraid to speak for their Rohingya counterparts. They identify themselves as Burmese Muslims and distance themselves from Rohingya.
- Gambia along with Canada are the only two countries that are currently starting a movement at various ICC branches in The Hague to hold Myanmar accountable. It is a very long and tedious process.
- Aung San Suu Kyi the leader of Myanmar is buying time and playing the international community by engaging Kofi Annan to setup a fake committee for investing the crimes. In other words a smokescreen.

Also in regards to Bangladesh, Myanmar is a clear and festering threat which is arming itself inappropriate to its needs.

Bangladesh needs to keep in mind the hostility it faces from its neighbors.

After yesterday's eyeopener, I am afraid that BD is in a tough position. Close to a million Rohingya refugees in BD right now aren't going anywhere. Myanmar is not going to take them back. Europeans won't take Rohingya refugees in. That became very obvious yesterday during the conversation. The UNHCR is already hinting that BD should mentally prepare for the worst outcome. Additionally, the UNHCR is basically demanding BD to integrate the Rohingya refugees.

For me I say that battle is lost and for humanitarian reasons integrate the Rohingya into Bangladesh and given them citizenship.

Ease their suffering.

Keep the diplomatic efforts up but the reality is no one cares.

I can make the argument that BD foreign policy has been ineffectual. And certainly BAL is responsible for that.

If you look at Hasina’s interviews from the early part of this decade her stance on the Rohingya has disgusted me.

But I wouldn’t say equally.

This crisis was manufactured by Burma and all BD could do was reactionary.

I always go harder on the so called "good" people who are either silent spectators or undermining the cause.
For example, If a powerful man is beating someone weak while the bystanders just watch it all happen despite being in position to stop him.. in my books they are a lot worse than the perpetrator.

No my point is turkey is also predominantly Muslim but prostitution is legalized there and not without reason, legalizing helps govt regular spread of venerable diseases, stop sex trafficking etc. it’s not about let go bang some whores, it’s about stopping people taking advantage of vulnerable women, Muslim or not.
