In certain cases its permissible

a) When first wife in terminally sick , second marrige can
help the family coupe with social problems. Children can
get care they need

b) In case of major wars, when families are left with no head
or family or income , rather then being a mistress to someone , the wife
gets legal status, and rights to live life wih honor

The whole dating scene is a modern concept , in old days families were
faced with sever problems - homelessness , death by famine etc

c) When marrige can end - regional wars , also lack of children is another
cause.

Other then that , you can't have second marrige with out consent of first wife.

* I don't know anyone on my family side that has married twice but based on
special need it can be permitted, its not allowed just for sake of pleasure alone
One needs to have a real reason.

Otherwise juts get divorce - and get married someone else if you can't get concent
if you can't find love in your marrige like rest of world

I do not feel that man is built to be a mongamous animal. It is an unnatural situation subliminally enforced into our psyche by society. It ensures a degree of mass (un)natural population control and the maintenance of some sanity in inheritance and distribution of amassed wealth from progenitor to progeny. But it is against the basic laws of nature and a serious cold shower on what would otherwise be a long and fruitful road to sexual discovery for the only species which does not need to be in estrous to copulate, which the married brainwashed masses give the consolatory tag of 'making love.'

*A Men must be able to physically, psychologically and financially treat all wives equally. If not than he will be punish.

However sad part is that low qualityMuslim (Men) has been abousing this permission for pleasure instead of humanitarian cause. No wonder mulims are being targeted by wrath of Allah for disobey direct order.

In our country, you will find a loser like Rickshaw puller or day laboror with several wives. Now why shouldn't these scum be executed for such vulgar activity since they are not even close to meet any precondition for having more than one wife?

actually i am little bit religous in this matter Allah says in Chapter/Surah Nisa.

And if you fear that you will not act justly towards the orphans, marry such women as seem pleasing to you, two, three, four; but if you fear that you will not be equitable, then only one, or what your right hands own; so it is likelier that you will not be partial.(3)

You see there are........ 3,442,850,573 Male in this World and 3,386,509,865 females in this world. If one man marries with one women obviously 56,340,708 womens will die Virgin so mens in some places of the World will have to keep more than one wife to ensure everybody is happily married

Now look at the verse of the Holy Qur'an that says....... you marry 2, 3 or 4 but if you fear that you will not be able to give them a Justice...... then only one is enough for you. So it is upon the male/individual that if he thinks he can fullfil the requirements of his 2 wives at the same time like provide them accomodation, bear the cost of their daily lives and give enough time to his wife that his wife has no problem with his man then second wife is ok. But if he thinks he cannot fullfil the requirements of more than one wife than 1 is more than enough

Zaki, that is because women live longer. A lot of those women are widows of a ripe old age. But if you want to give them a second chance at marriage......

Oh yeah, count in the nuns too. They are supposed to remain virgins. so they obviously aren't marriage material.
