The story is simple.

BJP thought demand of NRC in Assam was based on anti-Muslim threat but in reality the primitive Assamese people actually wanted to overcome the Bengali dominance over their state.

BJP's propaganda backfired and Bengali Hindus, the main BJP voteback in Assam, got declared illegals. BJP realized that this could happen during the listing process and suggested a new scheme to counter it called Citizenship Amendment Bill, which drew huge public outcry in the Northeast.

When Mamta said NRC could lead to civil war it wasn't based on hot air. Bengalis are the most scattered ethnic group in India, more like the Kurds in the former Ottoman Empire. You will find Bengali pockets in almost every state in India. If they start the NRC process throughout India, millions of Bengalis would be on the verge of being stateless, just like what happened in Assam. And passing Citizenship Bill will just rejuvenate the separatist movements in Northeast in a far more violent manner.

Look at the audacity of the miyas, on one hand they are quietly celebrating having passed through fraudulent means and on the other hand they are still crying victimhood by spreading vicious propaganda about us being x.... That a few sellout Hindu Bengalis are supporting them is the most unfortunate thing.

You know what happened in my hometown during Tazia some days back and then the events of Darrang where a uptight police officer was victimized. Curiously, even the BJP is silent. Time will come when we decide that enough is enough.

Emotions, on both sides, also played a negative role, instead of a positive one. Hindsight does not always reduce the complexity of an issue, rather sometimes makes it more foggy.

I have been through history from all sources and have reached on conclusion that whatever our blunders were,your worshipping of ethnic idol was more than anything.
Not even single person died from hands of Govt bit post-march 71 everything changed.
There are many threads on this forum which refute all claims made by Bengalis regarding not getting fair treatment.
