Diplomatic stand-off deepens, India rubbishes Pakistan's claims of aiding terror groups

New Delhi: The diplomatic stand-off between India and Pakistan is escalating with Pakistan Defence Minister Khwaja Asif on Monday accusing India of helping terror groups in Pakistan carry out "heinous acts".

Asif further alleged that India has 'designs on Pakistan' and claimed that the Taliban has links with India. "The Taliban have links with India. Also, India's involvement in the insurgency in Balochistan cannot be ignored," he said.

However, when asked to provide evidence for his claim, the minister dodged the question and proceeded to claim that a low intensity war was underway. He stated that his allegations were based as much on conviction as on experience.

Pakistan Defence Minister claimed that Taliban has links with India and its involvement in the insurgency in Balochistan.

Rubbishing the claims, India hit back at Pakistan saying that it is clear to everyone that India is not the country aiding terror groups. "We all know, who is upstreaming terrorism and who endeavours to downstream terrorism. It is certainly not India. We all also know that the main threat to peace and security in Afghanistan comes from terrorism," said External Ministry Affairs spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said.

Asif's comments come a day after Advisor to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz accused India of involvement in terror acts carried out from Afghanistan's soil in Pakistan.

Sarabjeet Singh and Kashmir Singh are spies not terrorists... a senior member like you don't even know the difference b/w a spy and terrorists. your augments are just based on your military propaganda. show if you have some evidence. you military and politicians never had any evidence against india. they are just blaming india because they don't want to agree that it is the failure of Pakistani military and politicians who want power to control the counry, they always believe in Islamic radicalization of pakistan and hate towards india for justifying the spending of large part of national budgets on military create the problems in pakistan. in simple word, they don't want to agree that they are noting but a failure, their polices are blunders which cause more problems to pakistan than their enemy.
