What kind of thread is this? :what:

I do know know of any method which can gauge the diplomatic efforts. This diplomatic power changes with time, nation etc. So it is not possible to comment on this.

However common sense tells us the answer.

. . .
As premier military strategist Carl von Clausewitz states that “war is an extension of politics by other means." , it can be safely said that diplomacy is incorporated into the inter-state politics. Do we have any ranking in politics ? Probably a ballot box is a way to measure it but then who can measure the politics of Gandhi ?

India - Done well, has spread India's influence all over the world.
Sri Lanka - Doing quite well, managed to balance India and China well
Pakistan - Not a very good record, not able to get its point across to the world.
Bangladesh - doing ok but needs to bump up its UN presence
Nepal - not much to talk about, but doing ok
Bhutan - Again nothing big to talk about.
Maldives - Doing very well, managed to give of a very positive image of itself to the world.

In short top 3

India, Sri Lanka and Maldives. - They have great diplomatic relations with many countries, generally positive image in the world.

Bottom 3

Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan - Pakistan weak diplomacy has always let it down, Nepal and Bhutan need to get things moving, so does Bangladesh.

I would like to disagree on some parts.

Pakistan has displayed the best diplomacy in recent history in South Asia.

They have successfully two timed the only superpower on this planet and are continuing to do so. Even after 9 years of US involvement in Afghanistan, its no secret that ISI still maintains links with Taliban. Just a few days back, Hillary herself stated for the millionth time, Osama is hiding in Pakistan. Even then, the Pak government and its diplomats have managed to please all the concerned parties.

How they used the WOT, convinced the Americans and managed to get all the hi tech weapons that they will ever need to fight India, not speaking of billions of dollars that they have received as aid over the last few years. Its no secret as to where this money has gone and against whom its being used.

What about my country: SRI LANKA

This is what you wanted to hear as an answer when you opened the thread...didn't you..?

Even though Srilanka is doing well in the field..i would not put it on the top...

Actually you did not ask clearly ...what did you mean by Diplomatic Power..?? Did you mean it in global perspective or, in regional view..

If you consider Globally then there is no point in guessing -- INDIA
regionally -- cant really say...BHUTAN or, BANGLADESH..imo..
