'Did we force them to join army?': FIR filed against Om Puri for controversial comment on Uri martyr

If he doesn't ask for it even after this episode

AND prefers to stay in India THEN

There is really something wrong either with him or with you :p:
We really prefer him to rather live in India for the rest of his life & make a mockery of Indian state on world forum & rile up the Indian patriots like you as he is doing now. :enjoy:

.
Why people come to TV interviews after gulping two or three pegs?:hitwall:

. .
Indians can't have opinions in india.. Incredible democracy

It not the question of what you want

The real point, what you should be deliberating is, whether someone who is branded as a shameless creature in India, PREFERS your country over India OR NOT :enjoy:

The anchor was trying to provoke him by comparing Bollywood actors, with soldiers. His response is valid, nobody forced them to join the army, it may not be completely appropriate but its factually correct.

Whats happening now is pure stupidity, the media is trying to turn it into a big drama and letting sensationalism prevail over journalistic integrity. I wonder how long it will be before people tell him to move to Pakistan or something?

.
Do you agree with this statement? Do you really think Pakistan will be palestine of the region?
During a debate, one needs to prove his point without stooping at such a low level.
First of all it was very clear he was drunk, and was out of his senses.
Second, He should not be using such derogatory statements in context with Army.

When he was referring to Palestine, he was talking about Kashmir. That is why he gave reference to the number of Muslims in India and said that don't provoke them. Huge respect for the man!

. .
Nobody forced him to retain his Indian citizenship. If India and her soldiers is not enough for them then he can seek US citizenship.
You can criticise our PM and all other politicians .

But you dont have any authority to criticise the Army .Because you dont know the value of sacrifices.
Oh please get over yourselves, you sanctimonious bunch of retards. He has every right to criticise as he sees fit, he has the freedom of speech unless that is now a thing of the past. He was defending the right of any person to come to India without being forced to say or not say things esp political. The PK actors and singers perform, they perform for a fee and from which they impart a value to the buyer, normally a profit, so India was getting the labour of a talent to make money. It is not as though India was giving work for no gain. So this guy was saying banning talent actually hurts India too, esp the producers and investors who could lose money.

Currently there are a number of international players in India, some even perform in films etc, have you forced all of them to make political statements or asked them to denounce one thing or another.

Neither I said that we mastered from you
gotta learn from the best...

Nobody should use such words about their army no doubt about that. But I have seen the clip and om puri kept asking the anchor if he wants to turn this region into Israel/Palestine.So he was talking about peace but the anchor kept instigating. This idiotic anchor started saying that a movie hero makes 10 to 15 crores in a movie whereas a soldier does his duty for 30,000 per month. This is when om puri said we did not force them to join army. Is that a comparison fair at all? Do soldiers fight for money? Why does nobody question these stupid anchors? Why would you put a soldier and a movie hero in the same spot to begin with? There are a lot of petty things which are picked up and made issue of by Indians whereas a lot of big things go unnoticed. Its time for the Indians to keep a strict check on their media if they want to save themselves from such embarrassments. I think the anchor be held responsible for the comparison as well.
Exactly, he was taken out of context.

Don't agree. The income aspect was not needed. Its like you're saying they are doing something better than you but not getting paid as much. You can compare a doctor to an engineer, an actor to an anchor but when you compare a soldier to any other profession in terms of money, you are disrespecting their sacrifice yourself. You must not make such statements just because you know the person you are talking to will respond in a similar way and it can create controversy. In the whole episode soldiers were disgraced by both sides and both were wrong.
Well not really...because one was disregarding the Army by saying that they joined it by will so there is nothing to complain and the other was putting up a point that they are sacrificing their lives even though they get a meager salary...Am i reading it wrong??

public figures are always scrutinized in all fair/unfair manner...what's new about it?? They need to watch their mouths/actions all the time...So crowd calling Inzaman Allo(potato) will not considered wrong whereas him going after them is...its unfortunate but true that the fan fare these celebrities enjoy comes with a package....
