The question arose in my mind when I saw the news of Bangladeshi missions abroad observing the National Mourning day. But since 15th August is the Independence Day in India, do they allow to observe the National Mourning Day there?

I dislike someone, so I named my dog as his name as I cant reach the level to compete him. Just personal satisfaction to insult him. Similarly some people killed a man and made that day happy birthday of a third class character, just to insult that man.

I know where you are heading towards but don't you think it's irrelevant here?

That's a good point! I would also like to see if the Indian missions in Bangladesh are allowed to celebrate their Independence day.

This is simple question. BD mission will observe both the occasions. And Indian mission will also observe both. I just posted my off topic thought in a not so important thread ;) And it was spinning in my head whole day as I started my journey from Bandarban to Dhaka. And full day it was Sheikh Mujib's speech. But no Khaleda khichuri anywhere.

Actually it was a well planned assassination, keeping in mind Indian authorities will be busy on 15th August and wont know what is happening in BD.

You mean Indian flags in the Indian missions in Bangladesh are kept half mast on their independence day? And are they allowed to cut cake?

They are Indian administered area in BD like other embassies. GoB has no control in there. So they are free to observe anything they wish respecting BD. Most probably they will attend GoB occasions by invitations. BD national mourning day or their independence day both are lowest in our respective priority list. Many wont just care who is doing what. Anyway people who has more knowledge in this may clarify.

Fair enough! What about the general Indians living in Bangladesh? How do they celebrate their independence day? The Chinese New Year, for example, is celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Chinese people in Bangladesh.
